Of course not per day number. That's the total each of their multis generate.
How can a multi generate 100k in a single day?
If you find enrolling like that to be an effort, then I must assume you never sold for profit on the market, resold resources to the facilites, cared about the hunt assist gold, cared about the thief gold, or any of the resource/art shortages.
And as for the blocking I have seen the sweepers in action like Shebali said, but the sweepers are far from blocking all the obvious cheaters.
A cheater would have 10 multis, then have 5 multis get blocked, usually the obvious ones like cheater1, cheater2, cheater3, etc. The other 5 have better names. Then they would just transfer their gold around and create 10 more multis. I would agree with you if the admins had blocked the cheater's main and made him start all over again, but most of the time these kinds of cheaters have such a convoluted system of transfers that you can't easily find the main if they even have one. | for Pantheon:

I understand what you are saying. But this gets to the issue of how many "brothers" does the player have? When I trace the logs of some of these cheaters, I can find these transfers going across dozens of multis. I guess one can always argue the person has 5 brothers and each brother have 2 sets of multis to cheat with. And to explain how transfers criss-cross, it's probably brothers forgetting to log on/off and getting confused which account is logged in. I often see people posting with their alts by mistake.
I just think the admins should adjust the whole economical system here. I'm not saying sweepers aren't doing anything. Topic created in January. Filled with plenty of work by fusei. Nothing happened. 3 hours are true only for Tavern violations, which I suspect are handled by one of the moderators.. There are plenty of others like Kotrin, desparatedesire and many others that already do this. Any obvious cheaters I notice are likely to have already been noticed by another multi-hunter. Any posts I make would simply clutter up the C&A Forum, wasting the admins time as they get yet another notice that Player_X is cheating (there is no Player_X at this time so don't bother checking). I will wait for the backlog to disappear before I start posting about obvious cheaters.
However, there are also the more subtle forms of cheating that can be very difficult to detect.
I have personally examined the logs of a character that claimed to be honest and was active in hunting down other cheaters.
A very close examination of the characters transfer logs lead me to another character that used the first characters services as an enchanter over a long period of time. The odd thing was, after spending many 10's of thousands of gold buying the elements for enchanting and getting a nice enchanted sword, the extra character would soon after sell the enchanted sword, usually asking less for it than they paid getting the elements to enchant it. This took a few hours of looking through transfer logs to determine. And it still doesn't provide definitive proof because some people really are just that stupid.
I reported this to the Admins via the Secretary character and not too long after the character received a minor penalty for some unrelated offences. Now it's likely that the character was already being watched by the admins and my post added nothing to the action that they may have already decided to take.
Unfortunately this character is still active in the game today and probably enjoying a steady income as a high level enchanter.
Anyway, the point of this post is this - don't worry too much about the obvious cheaters. The Admins are competent and will easily find any cheater that you can find in a few minutes. In a lot of cases, these cheaters have already been reported. The obvious ones are also more likely to be the ones that don't realise it was against the rules or don't care. Either they'll stop or they'll be blocked, making it pointless to have cheated in the first place.
The cheaters to watch for are the more subtle ones. The ones that are not so easy to detect.

I normally don't have much of a chance to spend real money on idle diversions (and I appreciate that this game doesn't go as far as some others in making spending money more or less a requirement to compete), but if an online game has people cheating more or less openly and I get the impression that it is ignored, that chance goes right to zero. And since the game depends on people spending money, I can see how this might create a problem.
Understanding that the people involved in moderation might already be spending as much time as they are willing to on monitoring this, I still don't feel that cheating is under control on the server. The fact that there is enough of a backlog for you to just go randomly picking doesn't give me a warm happy feeling here :)
To anyone involved, if you are able to discuss something like this: How much is involved in dealing with a cheater? If you're looking at a painfully obvious multi financial assist / staged combats situation, can you just click a button to block/fine right there? Or is there some escalation process that gets backlogged as well? Admins have a problem! But we can say that they have not if you want. And we can let people like you get mad trying to make the work of 10 man/woman.
I've nothing against you, other moderators or admins, but I'm not stupid. Cheaters are everywhere. And the countermeasures are not enouth.

Quite interesting experiment, did it myself and found something.
I don't know what kind of tools the sweepers have at their disposal, but if they don't already have a tool that sums up the transfer log, providing one would certainly speed up finding and verifying cheaters. And if there already is such a tool, may I have it? ^-^
Manually finding transfer in a log with 100+ entries is quite difficult, so the best chance is to find the feeders, who are usually much more obvious. | just been read all the comments about ways of making gold!!!
i liked the comment about "rich man and poor man methords" however some people believe that the rich man methord is also a way of cheating inorder to get money but in a legal way

Why not? They are both dirt poor. Who's making whom rich? And it's back and forth, not one way. And it's not that huge either.
At most, I'd say it's a little suspicious. But if a log like this instantly triggers "Cheater!" from you, then I guess you'd be seeing cheaters everywhere. |
