#153 LoS internal clan debate

Author#153 LoS internal clan debate
Claiming that I am biased against any member or any group of people is ludicrous and without proof. Claiming that one can't be a Mod because one is involved in a clan doesn't hold water either. I am leader of #145. Zyanya is treasurer of #201. Shebali is leader of #255. Skunder of #138. Pang has been leader of #111 for a long time. Cepruyc is leader of #333. And I'm not counting all clan memberships. Browsing through all clan threads will show how may people I ban - including in Warriors' Guild very own thread!!
https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1862270&page=0#231306

Oh, and since I am a Keeper as well, should I stop doing battles?

Nobody said anything about you being "involved" in a clan or that you are even a player but that you are the LEADER of a clan. Nice straw man there. It doesn't hold water because that's not what is being said. Give me an example of any competing groups, where one group has the power to control the other in any way and the playing field is level. That's why they have outside refs in sporting events. It will only be worse when War Clans begin. Your voice as a mod has influence over Empire or as a group of mods and that is how the bumping rule came to be. You are on the payroll and also a rival clan leader. You, having information of what can bring a ban and not willing to share it? What else needs to be said? You have pretty much showed your cards to us by stating that. Did this game somehow become sci-fi, where the strange becomes reality? ( Twilight Zone music begins)
I don't think a message like Indeed, welcome all new members! We still have a few spots and BCS left. If you wish to join a tight knit group--check us out asap xD can be a flood.

this is a message you post it just after you think that it can help new members.

for me a flood is something without something new info in
For an example of flooding kotrin, look in the mass floods done by diverscity (not sure if I spelt that right) and rebel flooders in the off game forum.

thnx diverscity for giving us a prime example of flooding.

(im to tired to supply a link)
I got over my being tired. :P

Also my spelling of diverscity is incorrect. BUt my memory span is so short i've already forgotten the spelling.
It is a little sad though when you think about it. I asked for a very clear answer, to something that has been complicated by Kotrin's interpretation from ANYONE on the server.

So far, no one has delivered--and Kotrin himself chose not to answer it, which is mind boggling. I didn't think he'd comment on this thread, and figured if he did, he'd at least of answered the question being posed and not ramble a long message about something 'related.'

If no one else can provide some good information for me, then I'll close this topic this weekend.

hehehe.

:)
This probably won't satisfy you, limustdotcom, but it is an answer if you really want it.
I guess if you really want to avoid any instance of being banned for clan "flood," you should NOT post anything that anyone can find out or goes without saying.
"Welcome new members," and "tight-knit groups" go without saying. Which clan wouldn't welcome its members, or claim its "tight-knitness"?
Meanwhile, the point about limited spots and BCS can be found on the clan page itself- (I'm assuming this, as I haven't read it fully) so they don't need to be written again.
In the end, you should probably only write about new and important developments that people would probably not know about or gloss over. Yeah, they may not be common, but at least they won't be "flood."

What is going on here? Yes this clan had bumped frequently but this was before the new rule was created so not illegal.

However, since the rule no bumps and surely a player is allowed to post services he is offering HIS clan mates in HIS own clans thread?

- This information was NOT previously posted.
- This player was NOT involved in previous bumps.
- This information WAS useful to his clan mates (in my opinion).
- This player WAS proud of his new postion as clan armour enchanters and wanted to share this with his friends.

Sorry to use your thread Stu but I would like to ask the MODs the same question you did. What do you guys think about this? How can we avoid not flooding in our clan topic, how could anyone have made this message ban-proof?

It is becoming ridiculous when clans are afraid to use their own threads to share information.

I was also thinking into the background of this rule:

PROBLEM (or was it):
- Some clans were more active than others and managed to update their clan page more frequently meaning it was more often at the top of the list.

SOLUTION:
- Stop everyone from using the forum as they wish and posting the information they consider useful.
- Initially directed exclusively at #153- LoS but after user interventions was posted as a new local rule (sticky) for everyone in the clans topic.

OUTCOME:
- Many annoyed users who feel they have an unfairly banned.
- More work for MODs enforcing these rules.
- #153 - League of Shadows is no longer top of the clans thread list / except it is. This rule really is impossible to fairly enforce unless every thread is just locked and/or every post results in a ban.
every post results in a ban.

Wow, this is unreal. I just looted my last piece of the MH set and was planning on placing that in our thread as a rental but I suppose that is now a bannable offense? Absolutely out of control.
Quoted directly from Kotrin's reply on page 2 - KOTRIN: If you want to make your messages ban-proof, carry new, original and actual information in your posts. As simple as that.

Unfortunately did not work for bhelave of #413 Unicorn who did all those things.

On a plus side though, it did work for binghou of #381 Dragon Alliance who sucessfully bumped his thread by welcoming new members (as he did in his previous post too) though I guess his was at least "actual"
diverscity
DiverseCity

spelling corrected.
Sorry, I said I would not write in this thread anymore, but a side comment is required here:

If you look at bhelave's character page (https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=4568905) you'll see that he is:
Enchanters' guild: 0 (2) +102 (-)
- Weaponsmith: 0 (0) +8
- Armorer: 0 (0) +8
- Jewelcrafter: 0 (2) +6

I therefore considered that the "armor enchanter" announce was just a blatant attempt at bumping thread by mentioning fake information. Having a clan mate reaching a new enchanter level isn't flood, for sure.
I dream that we have "special thread", where Mods can answer 'controversial' ban questioned by players (something like what Kotrin did in #53). What he did in post #53 is very good. He gave clarification and provide the reason why he banned him. +1 for you Kotrin.

I know that Mods are here to help keeping forum clean and organized. and I really appreciate what you did. But...like you said before, any power can be abused.

Therefore... if we have the thread, no doubt that we will have a mechanism for 'check and re-check'. And maybe, Arctic's vision about this community will come true. No one will ever said that Mods are abusing power.

Before any of you said that it seems like a lot of work... think again. I think more than 99% banned players deserved the ban. Only less than 1% are considered as 'controversial ban'
99% banned players deserved the ban. Only less than 1% are considered as 'controversial ban'

You have that much faith in moderaters?
@55: Yes.. :)

BTW, this is what I call a thread bumping. Look at the date and time of each posting

https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1862593

Isn't it better to change the #7 Clan forum rule to something like "Each clan may update it's thread for maximum 1x/day" ??

Welcoming a member is not an "urgent" task that needs to be updated every hour isn't it?
It almost seems like the new rule will make people want to find ways to bump. Sad thing is that I HARDLY write messages in my own clan thread--but when I do write one, getting banned seems silly lol.

If anything, a mod should take that into account as well. If someone hardly ever posts, and he posts something after a hiatus of sorts, is it flooding hehe?

Tough cookies to eat without milk I say.
Tough cookies to eat without milk I say.

My fav quote of the year.
Latest bumping scam: Dragon alliance is welcoming players 5 at a shot to bump their thread. Look at when they joined. At this rate he has enough players behind them to bump many more times. Now let's call it like it is, scam bumping. Sorry Bing but you have to play by the same rules we do here. Welcome the rest of the guys and get it over with.

congratulations to these heroes, for being active in the Clan Chat Room
All these heroes below recieve 3 clan points each.

• Deris
• ShadowKingk

• Tutor
• misaisagona
• matt__777
• ElvenBoromir
• popoez
• Gear
• Fruckus

In my opinion this post on Blade of Honor thread is no different than when limu got banned. Gettting a BC share is a bit more important than getting clan points in chat for being active. Where is the banhammer?
