Whats the best troop set up for a lvl 5 wizard?

Max magi, then gargs, then golems.

its not so clear and cut, but for the most part i agree with 542, especially if u have very high spell power
however, some wizards can go for might on level 5
gremlin engineers are essential for this
their repair ability allows wizards to keep up large numbers of golems
then u should take max magi, then golems, then engineers, and any gargs that remain.
also, u should equip speed miniart on golems. i put initiative as well, but that is not as important. with speed 4, golems are pretty well useless, speed 5 is MUCH better (altho they are still very slow).

Personally, I used mostly these 2 combinations:
1) 35 Gargs - 13 Golems - 5 Magi, don't recruit 1 remaining Grem
2) 26 Grems - 24 Gargs - 11 Golems - 5 Magi
lol heartbreakkid.. might wizard always has advantage against magic wizard. i think it's because of the golems 75% magic resistance.
And Magic wizard had advantage with running gargs!

Why don't you say it?? they all had privilag so don't say one of them and ignore the other!

It's all part of the game so might wizard is stronger than magi PERIOD!!

Where's the advantage of gargs, if the enemy has gargs too (in this case gargs who can do even more damage)?
Magic Wizard is the worst, has weak troops, is boring and loses by all (even other wizards), so grats to anyone that uses a Magic Wizard despite all that and still manages to win some battles!

Just kidding apparently. And HeartBreakkid chill out, it's just a game to have fun and not provoking others :)
u cant make general statements about whether might or magic is better... it depends on ur ap and level

i find that between lvl 5-7, a high ap magic wiz is better than a might wiz. This is bcoz a magic arrow that does 104 damage (sp 9 with no talents) is pretty good. If you also have an MH ring of dexterity, and basic/advanced sorcery, it means high damage very fast which is not affected by defense.

even with min ap, it can be very easy to beat some factions:

Cast with genies at his shooters, don`t get caught by his swordmen and cast spells on griffins. later cast at shooters (depends on how dangerous they are with genies spells on them) or swordmen. If you have the opportunity to attack shooters with gargs without getting in range of swordsmen, do it.
i tried that but they mostly take 92 x-bows when my gargs atked 32 EG died by just an xbow atk when they use swords i know how to win ^^
Well, then kill the xbow first ^^

Knight is one of the easiest opponents to Wizard, at least to my experience. Normally you just zap them down.
just stay in back your first shot as normal on bows but genies and mages and gargs let them kill griffins first and after they are dead also aim for the monks and the sowrds are left alone to chase those flying statues :)

@548 let him provoke :) :) i laughed at him in the first place. personally i prefer him over people who whine when they get provoked :) i acutally got banned twice because mod's thought i am just a moment away from insulting.. =)

@547 i think the magic wizards garg will have other miniarts +2 speed, at least when they have it, they can run from the might wizard's gargoyles.. with only + speed, he can'T get away for long though.

from my personal experience in the last minor tournament on .ru, the less you have on magic, the better (in wizard vs wizard). but it might be useful to have some magic at least, to kill the jinns.

furthermore i agree to 549, that its situative.
i can add though, that in a tournament you cannot win as magic wizard (because of the barbarians). with a hybrid you have better chances. also, because most artifacts are better in physical powers. (e.g. ring +3attack +2% ini vs only +2 spell power) as pure magic your troops are completely unreliable weak idiot-beings, and spell damage can't always, and vs barbarians not all, compensate this.

@549 it's easy to kill a knight as magic wizard.. soo goddamn easy.

if your a hybrid (magic wizard with maight artifacts) you can also kill the griffins with a major djinn stack, at the latest after you gave them a single lightning. especially when you already weakened the shooter's, its better to kick out those griffins first. otherwise they first-strike your precious jinns :)
i admit that when they don't use swords, it can be harder.. i'm not experienced in this, because lately all my opponents had them. :) tip: maybe stay behind and use defense option while magic takes them down ?


now i have a question.. for the minor tournament. what is stronger at lvl 10.. the staff or the sword? ^^ and don*'t just say it's situational, or i'll provoke you ! :P

When we had a minor tournament (1.5 years ago!) max combat level was 8 (and most of us didn't even exist in game).
So better ask in "Everything about .ru" thread if you want any clear answers or stay here to hear our assumptions :P
when ru. last time had minor tour,wizards still had powerful mini-arts =)
