AuthorWhy are Q&H topics closed so quickly?
Would it not be better to leave them open for at least 24h so that a full answer can be given?
I bet one of them will move this to ideas and suggestions ^^
Must of them are already answered
Because sometimes the author closes them or at least lets everyoine know he gets it. Maybe Moderators just think that a Clear answer has been given

oops, my bad

posted with multi XD
the answer may be clear to the mods who gave them, but to the one who asked it....
This was exactly what I was thinking. I was going to post something in one of the topics that was just opened, played a battle and came back and it was locked. It wasn't worth reopening the topic but this is quite annoying. I'll +1 if anyone suggests this in the ideas and suggestions section. =p
It's not just about giving full answers - other people might have questions related to the same topic.

But DiN - you are a mod now, why arent you discussing this in private with them? Why bring it up here?
"Why are Q&H topics closed so quickly?"

Because someone decided to recruit 20 sages without any directions. All of them eager to show how active their are, there are just not enough topics for all of them. :-)

At our wave of recruitment, we were pretty hasty sometimes too, and there were only 4 of us and with proper guidelines and talk from Takesister how to do the thing.
sages dont have a hidden forum part. Do you want to discuss it with all those new sages one by one on private mail ... ?

But now they are a sage, they think they have to answer all questions immediately. They are a bit overzeaulous, sometimes they even post the wrong answer ...
But DiN - you are a mod now, why arent you discussing this in private with them?

Because you can hardly discuss with 20 people without forum, right?
It is not a major thing worth an official discussion. I was just wondering as 3 times I have written an answer only to press post and find topic already closed.

I am also not a Q&H mod so cant post in their private forums or go to their chat etc . . .

This seemed a much easier method.
..Sages dont have a private forum.
answer: because before trying this new "//Moderation options on" button, there some basic things waiting to be learned like *how is this mod thing working* =D

a simple "yuppieee! i'm a mod at last! now what next?" won't work.
..Sages dont have a private forum.

ah ok, so that explains this thread ;p

Sages, we request that you leave threads in Q&H open longer to give everybody a chance to post if they want to - thanks :)
It's a result of the following factors

1) no rules regarding this matter
2) no instructions given
3) desire of showing activity
@7

Thus, topics are closed if:
1. The answer is given (main condition).
1.1. - There's no activity for a long time.
1.2. - Flame or flood started.
1.3. - The topic is not related to this forum thread.

sorry for double post was ment for 16 not 7
Personally I leave my "//Moderation options on" off until I am sure that they are needed. Second, and I am sure this is how it will work out eventually, IMHO a topic should not be closed until it is closed by the person who created it, the person who creates it acknowledged that there question has been answered, or the topic has become redundant and no more information can be added, (that is worthwhile).

Just my take on the matter.
It's because all sages received a PM wich said that we have to lock all threads after the answer was given.
