The basic logic says to leave the thread open until creator says something like "ok I understood" or it turns into inactive or flamy thread.
Or the question has been answered, but it means a question with a straight answer like: "how many mana does one knowledge get?" 10. QATC,(you can mention that with certain talents it can be more). |
An observation -
Since I joined this game more than 1 year ago, first time I see ALL the threads (except this one, which ironically, is in reference to what I am saying) on the 1st page of G&H all closed(!) :)
Personally, I do feel some threads are closed a tad too quickly.
Ultra efficient or.. ? |

I don't see the need to write QATC and to lock the thread by a sage either. Ironically, all these QATCs may be flood/bumping and should be moderated. If the owner of a thread feels the question is answer, the owner may close the thread. Even if not, the thread will go obsolete over time. If people want to continue discussion in the thread, then the thread is alive and it makes no sense for a sage to lock it too.
Speaking for the new sages, all receive rules saying explicitly to write QATC and lock the thread if question answered. The new sages are simply following the rules. Maybe the rules should be well thought through before given to the new sages. |
Well things are looking better already there is two topics
still open for discussion ^-^
I also agree imho topics should be given atleast a time period before they are locked to give several players opportunity to answer the questions
also a answer we give may be wrong and different opinions is also helpful to players
Even so if we are Queen Amandas authority which it looks like to me
we should do as she guides us to do
if we have diffence of opinion with her we can discuss these ideas with her
and with higher authority if we feel like we need to |

when i started that game 2 years ago with another char and i looked at the forum for a right answer i always get the felling that i cant find the answer becouse most topis where full of disscussions.
if we close topics fast ppl will start new topics faster and we got so many mods that we can answer them all.
to prepair against garbadge in this forum we should start deleting old topics so if ppl need an aswer they will become it quick instead of serching a topic and reading within many pages to find the answer.
In my case i will follow all instructions the clanleader or the most active one like queen amanda will give us. |
I was around with another character two years ago
And i always could find the answer i needed
Whose idea was it to start closing topics faster?
Because i think it will cut off players from getting the full answer
And sometimes even a mod can be wrong, and if the wrong answer is given and the topic is closed then well, it speaks for its self

@23. Cepruyc is not giving much direction. I am very grateful that he appointed new mods and sages though. In the absense of the person who gave me the job, I will look to the other staff. Arctic is not too active in providing direction. Thus I look to Queen Amanda and I imagine the sages are doing the same.
Pang and Erocs have been around a while so if I was thinking of doing something that may be controversial, I may look to them for a second opinion as well. |

| opinions well Q&H are a liability for the forums if they r left open people flood them often and well back in the old days we had one or two mods and sages so it would be a hard job for them to keep apace that is why we have the close topic option also as 3 pointed out most of them have already been answered many times before so they r closed instantly |
As mentioned in previous posts, less QATCS would be better. Secondly, why do the sages have to CAPS their QATC, what are they trying to prove? Maybe the QATC mods would like to answer this? After all, it is a a queries thread, right?
Thirdly, stop locking threads so early. Sages pls put yourself in the position where a player comes in to the Q&H thread and see all the topics locked up, how would it look like, esp to new players? Just fyi, for pple who frequent other forums, a "lock" post is usually the result of a discussion gone wrong. Furthermore, some threads have replies that can lead to additional queries related to the topic. A premature QATC would just lead to further queries.
Lastly, I implore the sages to follow instructions and handle queries with more tact and hindsight. Quoting game rules without explanation (or giving an example) and following orders blindly without a proper thought process is just simply drone-like.

LoL that is true good insight GoD but there was this time when people would open 10 instances of the same topic without consideration, our leaders are a representation of what we are... don't you think so?
