Author4 New Classes, Dozens of Items, And Over 100 New Monsters!
I DID NOT COPY ANYTHING FROM OTHER SITES. Everything here I created. Any similarities is pure coincidence.

You aren't seriously suggesting that *all* of this content is new and created by yourself?

So many of the things that you have written about have originated from the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game, that it is quite funny to read you complaining about the admins "stealing" your ideas.

And please note that I am talking about things that *originated* in the D&D games and nowhere else. Things like Beholders, Driders, Umber Hulks, Vrock, Bebilith, Tanar'ri, Mephits, Demi-Lich and more, are originally exclusively related to D&D amd have only really been used by other sources in the last 30+ years since D&D has become a part of popular culture.

Much of the rest, like the Nemean Lion, Lamia, Azazel, Medusa, Leviathan, Erymanthian Boar, Harpies, Sirens and so many others are just from a variety of existing mythologies.

So really, there is very little original content here. In fact some had already been copied into the HoMM universe in earlier versions (like Beholders, and Harpies present in HoMM3). The only things that could be claimed as original are the numbers that you have assigned to the creatures as the characteristic values and some of the abilities you assign them (many of which result in seriously unbalanced creatures/factions) and that really isn't so very hard to do.

A very early post by the Admins hints at future Alt-Grades (https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=1832843 - bullet 4) and many of your "suggestions" are a fairly obvious progressions of existing LWM content. *So* obvious it is hardly surprising the Admins have ended up with the same names for some of the new units.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beholder - Note the "Publication History" information. Also note the irony that HoMM3 already copied Beholders from D&D decades ago.

There is very little "original" content here. Please get over yourself.

Grunge
Although I do like the content and I applaud that you compliled so much work and it is well done, I have to agreee a bit with Grunge.

There are many things in here from D&D (Yes, I am a long time PnP, and now in DDO) (wait can i get banned for saying that?), and all of the Epic Hunts are just from mostly Greek mythology, maybe some other mythologies also.

But I believe the new guilds are original. I mean, sure, other people have suggested those things before, but I've never seen anyone actually try to make them a reality. The new classes are fairly original, even if some of the monsters are copied from other sources. The new map terrains are also original, along with the 2-handed weapons.

But thats just my 2 cp (or is gold the only currency?). all in all, it's a good work, although your claim that it is all original might not be totally true.
First off, I'd like to say We've hit page 5 :p

#81- I must say, well thought through. When I said I didn't copy this from other sites, I meant that I didn't go to the HoMM sites and say, copy the tier 7 upgrades for the classes and post them here as my own original ideas. All of my ideas were inspired by either Greek mythology, or games such as Neverwinter Nights (a D&D based game.)
Any rants I may of have about the admins "copying" my ideas, was because I didn't like how they portrayed the creatures. I wasn't mad that they used the ideas here, simply a little disappointed of how they turned out.

"There is very little "original" content here. Please get over yourself."

Are you saying I'm full of myself?

#82-I don't think you can get banned from saying you play DDO :P When I said it was "original" I wasn't referring to the creatures, I was referring to their incorporation within a strategy game like this (Like, I didn't g to HoMM 5 and copy all the knight upgrades there and paste them here.) What I'm trying to say is I organized monsters into factions and gave them stats that were completely original, and I didn't copy, say, the Blackguard class from another site. I'm sorry if it sounded like I had invented the beholder and other monsters.

P.S. The only reason I even said that was I was sick of people making wild accusations of me copying this from HoMM.
@83

Yay! Page 5! :P

And, ya, thats pretty much what I said. I mean, it takes skill to be the first to imagine an enormous floating eye with plenty of stalk with little eyes on them that shoot an assorted array of "lasers" ;)
#84

"...an enormous floating eye with plenty of stalk with little eyes on them that shoot an assorted array of "lasers" "

It would be sooooooo easy to turn that into a dirty game :p
Tis a tad annoying when my thread falls back into the forums. I love bumping :p
Good work! But some of the monster abilites are still the same but you rename them like"Gremlin Scientist",
their ability is repair but you rename it into invent and "Wolfhounds-Cerberi-Hellhounds" do not have the spray attack which i think is lousier as spray can attack 3 monsters but draconic breath only 2 monsters
To stir away the empty talking, let me announce that this Administration did really take this thread (its previous incarnation, but still written by Rendingblade) into consideration, and that it has influenced the creation of certain game elements, especially Barbarian altgrades. In a minor way, but still.

I also believe I owe you somewhat of an apology, RB, you're quite right about certain creatures being not exactly the matching the image you'd usually have in your head when thinking about them (like sirens or dryads etc). But the introduction into the game is a complicated process involving many people, and each of these people makes some changes into the idea. I read your post, communicate the ideas to the Admins, they see it differently, later write orders to the artists who see them even more differently, etc. Also, may features become changed in process of creation as a result of testing or combining them with what already exists.

In short, thanks for your creativity and, well, don't hold a grunge on Grunge and on us for altering many of the details.
#87- My logic behind giving hellhounds the draconic breath ability was that although it hit less targets, it could be used to hit rangers and any other units that someone would want to hide behind a different unit.
As for repair to invent, for invent you don't need to have any golems on the field, or even in your army. Invent doesn't restore a stack, but rather creates an entirely new stack of creatures.

#88- Thanks for posting, and as you said, stirring away the empty talking. As for the creatures not appearing in game how I perceived them, I hold no grudge or anger about it whatsoever. I understand how everyone sees things differently, and the simple fact that they were introduced into the game is a boon.

As well, I hold no grudge against grunge, nor with you (I'm not sure who I'm addressing, as I don't know what company runs LordsWM) for altering any details. Thanks for taking the time to post.

I haven't been on the forums for a while.. 'Tis a tad upsetting to see how far my thread has fallen.
i dont get this
#91 What's not to get? I came up with ideas for creature upgrades and classes then posted them here in the suggestion forums (thus suggesting them to be put in game). Perhaps you could elaborate more on what you don't understand.
I swung by .ru a couple days ago, and it's amazing how much more popular the forums are there :) Some threads had several thousand posts. Think you guys can try to top that?
Just to clarify: For quasi's fire cone ability, can they move to any target (within their speed range of course) and then use fire cone, or they can't move at all (like incendiaries' inflame)?
For the fire come ability the quasi could attack anyone in range. Thanks for posting btw.
Once again, the thread has fallen to the back of the forums. BUMP
This thread is starting to get a little old....a little comments just might keep it alive though.
Well. great work! I was relatively bored this whole job week!! But your thread has made me come back alive :P I meant become lively again atleast in RL...
Sorry though since its the first time I am reading your posts! I have never seen a better organised piece of work in creativity.. Please think over and post more. it wil certainly encourage the admins, I believe.
it wil certainly encourage the admins, I believe.

It already has. And I'm sure it will continue to do so :)

Again, great work mate
@99-

Ha! I said that only because of earlier posts (specifically arctic's and rendingblade's earlier posts) :)

I should have said :
It will certainly continue to encourage admins, I believe.
