AuthorGood RPG games (for pc)
Final Fantasy series are the best RPGs ever I played on consoles
Amen to that! ^^

@ lukeman56789
From your comment, I'm assuming you have, at the most, played only a couple hours of a few of the titles. Either that or you couldn't get past one of the earlier bosses, gave up and assumed it was a crappy game (Happened to me years ago when I first tried FF, luckily I tried again later and am now in happy addiction ^^)

True, a few of the FF titles have been a let down, but overall any one of the Final Fantasy titles is a great game, one which any true RPG fan should try! :)

A few other nice RPGs I've stumbled upon are Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross [ <<-- MUST HAVE ], Parasite Eve and Breath of Fire.
Dragon Age was an excellent rpg

you can also try Dragon Age 2
Chrono Trigger is the best RPG of all time
dragon warrior 3 is a good game but it is hard and the graphics are rotten also it was designed for game boy but pc version is available
Chrono Trigger is the best RPG of all time

I second MasterTI on that, but I like Breath of Fire 1 (A LOT) :P
Also the Secret of Mana series isnt bad at all (on SNES)
i downloaded S.T.A.L.K.E.R:Clear Sky a couple of days ago, and i cannot stop playing it. definitelly one of the best RPG/shooter games!

also, i remembered one of my favorites, Deus Ex 1 (the conspiracy)
it came out in the year 2000, so the graphics aren't too great but the gameplay and storyline are excelent
Fable Series.

Actually for most of the people I know, it's the opposite. They find that they got past the early bosses too easily and gave up cos the game was too easy.

Only the players that played for storyline continued. Those that just wanted a challenge gave up.

FF is too easy, not too hard.
Depends on how far back you want to go.

Some of my favourites include Nethack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetHack) and Star Control 2 (AKA Ur-Quan Masters -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Control_II and http://sc2.sourceforge.net/).

Nethack is said to have inspired the makers of Diabolo and Star Control 2 is alleged to have derived some of it's setting from the works of David Brin and Larry Niven.

Be warned - these are *very* *old* games. If fancy new graphics are all you care about, you *will* be disappointed.

Grunge
I wonder why u don't mention Diablo II. Epic one :)
Ishar - Legend of the fortress is also oldie but goodie and not mentioned above. Lionheart, Betrayal at Krondor, Jagged Alliance 2, Septerra Core, Wizardry 8, Arcanum, Lands of Lore, all great RPGs.
- Baldur's gate 1 and 2 with addon
- Icewind Dale
- neverwinter nights 1 and 2

But my favorite ones (oldies) are :
- The Bard's tale
- Wizardy
Mario Bros is the best RPG all time :)
So many great RPGs listed and none mentioned Eye of Beholder 2 yet. Full of challenging puzzles. Back then my english was so bad i have no idea how i managed to finish this game.

Wizardry VII - crusaders of the dark savant. One of the very few games that deserves the description EPIC. I never finished it though... it takes time. and i mean like years... and some parts of it are very, very hard.

Pls dont scare them away its trully EPIC game.
Its not hard as u make it.
When i played it 15 years ago it took me 2-3 months to finish it but i had to study for high school final exams in meantime + my english was so bad i had to play with dictionary. The games creator usualy leaved some hints ingame how to solve hardest puzzles. Remember one particular difficult puzzle in late game i solved after reading a fairytale book(hint) found in library few times with dictionary in hand just because i didnt understand it reading it first time. if u dismissed it as a simple fairytale then u never found usefull hints hidden in there. Pretty much every item found ingame had some use u just have to find where to use it. ( easier said then done since the game world is a big planet :P )
- Resident Evil series
- Silent Hill
- Dino Crisis (Not sure I go the title right)
FABLE III although its very short, ( when you play for so long ) but what its good online, solo is also very intriguing.

For kratos: you the man, FF10 was the best, it was the SH%( i've replayed it like 5 times )
What about Assassin's Creed I.-III. its avesome!

- Resident Evil series
- Silent Hill
- Dino Crisis (Not sure I go the title right)

Nah, you got the title right :P
All 3 of them rule. I've played almost all the games from the RE series, and Dino Crisis 1 & 2. Too bad the third Dino Crisis game is only for the Xbox....would've loved to continue the story :)

These aren't exactly RPGs, but I do know one awesome survival-horror game that's a perfect blend of RE/Dino Crisis + FF ; Parasite Eve :D

@ Takesister
FF is too easy, not too hard.
Depends, I suppose. Any RPG game would be a breeze for those who have the patience to camp ;)
But quite a few of my friends who threw down FF claiming that it's 'crappy' did so because they couldn't breeze through the first few hours :)
BFBC2
BF3
Crisis3
Dragon Age
Fable
