| RMS or Root Mean Square is another way to find the central point or "average" it involves squaring all values adding them taking the root and then dividing it by the number of observations |
@Igles I think they are first divided by number of observation and then you take the root :)
But RMS is bigger with bigger dispersion. So why would you give a better score to a poem graded 7, 8, 9 than a poem graded 8, 8, 8. Or even more strange, a poem graded 7, 1 would take the same grade as a poem graded 5, 5.. |

yup you are right, and i suggested RMS because say the grades are7,8,9 or still better 7 ,1 (which is highly unlikely) in both of these cases there is a high degree of disagreement in values (9,7,2) and (7,1,6) which is quite appreciable for a scale of 10, moreover when we are talking about poetry it all depends upon the taste of the judge and the appeal that the poem has so i think RMS is a better alternative for evaluation in this case that is it ;) |

Hi all, I've enjoyed reading the poems, it will be hard to judge!
A pity to see plagiarism, just to let competitors know those plagiarised poems will not be in my list at all and I regard those players who posted them as disqualified.

guys after the results of this contest can we make a pick-up kine contest in which we should invent some pick-up lines to catch a girl/boy(depends on the character gender :D).
Since it is fun i don't think anyone will even try to cheat.
it will be purely fun.
