well this game is archaic in many ways. Its no secret that our lovely devs went for a very traditional representation of sex associated representation/roles. |

Mostly because most people don't want it to change. The non-traditional sexual preferences aren't accepted uniformly around the world, and it is a subject hot enough to create tensions. Find a different platform to fight those fights. |

I am no activist but "find another platform" because some people don't like it- is never a good reason. And i certainly don't admire shutting down other people because it makes you or someone you speak for uncomfortable. |

Obviously I shouldn't read too much into a wikipedia entry, but I get the impression that it's a topic that makes russians uncomfortable in general. And since it's a russian game after all, I think their stand is justified.
Personally, I come here to play a game and chill.
I would be perfectly okay with it if there was agreement, and the talks were peaceful, but it's such a topic that no discussion on it would remain civil for too long in anything but an echo chamber, which this is not. |

well good for you. Nobody is expecting you to do anything in the first place, so whether you just want to chill or do something else is your problem. Do you need everyone to chill like you in order for you to keep enjoying the game peacefully? I don't think we care that much about you mate.

It's not about what's the right thing to do.
The game's prerogative is to make money and have the game be attractive to players, not anything else.
They need to calculate how much $$$ they can get as donation from the RUSSIAN players, and if they have calculated that a pro-LGBT stand could tank their donations and hurt their player base based on how strongly people feel about the topic, it's best for them not to.
Games in general appeal to the masses, not the minorities. Not saying that couldn't be done, but would in general, not be financially viable. |

While I see the argument you are making, I do not support the notion that having a greater likelihood of being profitable justifies it as ok. If the only way of being profitable it so do something wrong, then that business should not exist. If doing something wrong makes it more profitable then it may be tempting, but in my mind they should just make less profits. |

| Liberal views extend both ways. I have to concede that it is fine for people to believe and view things in ways which I think are very wrong. The difference becomes when they act upon that in any way that causes impact to other people. So long as it stays in your head it's ok. As such discussing people views in this way has risks. I bet the mods are slightly worried about this conversation as it is. |
