Teach me your ways. Help me out, tell me how to avoid losses!
Victories / Combats: 42 / 48

Happy with my tactics and build, just very questionable judgement on some enemies I engaged. Went for one 900 gold army after about 20 wins earlier on. I think the top people will be on the early 30 k by this point. With better judgement (less losses) I would be easily 3k higher. Still, happy enough :-)
Lessons I have learnt(the hard way), viable enemies at higher points, demons, classic elves, classic necro, some dwarves, some dark elves. What is needed is first and foremost low total hp, secondly limited ability to block cannons on first move, more ranged is good as the will always be dealing half damage. Avoid enemies with spirit or magic resistance.
don't have too many expensive stacks which matter when you lose one, sometimes you may not have enough mana to resurrect all, some cheap sacrificial troops which you don't Res in those battles help. For expensive troops make sure you have one's more in reserve incase of a loss.

Shifted my focus on building anti instead of better score, doing 400-500 silver/battles kinda battles to ensure victory and fsp :)

:)
I advice you defence tactic: all points to defence + defence talents and luck + pirates have 15% resistance against attacks

Result is very resitand army, check my last fight as for tactic

Can you elaborate? Low total hp for whom? You mean your army should have low total hp?
My army low total HP, that would be bonkers, no, the enemy having a low total hp.

For mage to work well you need to destroy the enemy with sufficient hp left over to raise. This is usually achieved by wiping out the enemy and leaving a cannon, ideally with one of your cannons still alive. That way his hero hits your cannon, while you block his, giving enough time to raise all your army back (provided you have sufficient mana). Whether you have enough mana is dependent on how much of it you needed to use to kill them. This is dictated by 1) their total hp 2) how much damage your cannons were able to do before they die, most of the cannons are blocked for large proportions of the match 3) How quickly you need to kill them to get control (chain lightning and meteorite shower are inefficient mana wise, though can kill quicker and so mean less raising, selective use of these to gain board control and free up cannons to do substantive damage is key. As such enemies with lots of large creatures is good. Especially if they cannot reach you on turn 1. Checking out talent trees and comparing versus stats cn be useful to see if it is likely they are using the tactics talent or innate swiftness or not etc.
Be careful switching castle, just lost what would have been an easy fight because I wasn;t a wizard but had all stats and arts into spell power and knowledge. Combined cost, 800 crystals not earned and around 700 in lost units. An expensive lapse of care. Saw an easy army and just clicked attack without thought :(

i would expect that without losses would be more like 45k by now.

I suspect that when you hit ship level 6, or perhaps even 5, with enough silver reserve you could possibly switch to a might build as proportionally my damage will be higher from my troops than from me. I am reluctant to do so however as I have no read on what I would be able to beat with that setup.

HAHA :D I find this funny, because we can all relate to it. We have all done it before and I just can't help but laugh when it happens

Almost got through a day without a loss but underestimated one fury barb :/

Still, I learned how to utilize cannons, which made me beat stronger oponents this time.

Just bought my 4th one!

To go for no loss, you would have to take easier battles for less silver, so no I don't think you would get near 45k. Probably not even 40k.
No loss would just take less better selection, many losses earlier on where from choosing the wrong enemies in terms of faction, and one from a huge blunder. Losses also magnify and have a bigger impact in terms of progression to the next ship. For example one loss probably means it takes you at least one and probably normally 2 more battles before you can afford to upgrade your ship. Lets say that the new ship allows you to win battles that give on average 50 more silver. This means that without said loss you would across the whole event have gained 50Xnumber of battles left, the accumlated influence of these then over all of it becomes significant.

Last event the top scores were into the 60K and over region. I feel for me and my character development 45k would be achievable by now. I am sure that there will be those with better character development, tactics and judgement that will be higher than 45k already.
I think you're saying that your losses weren't due to your taking on tough challenges, but due to some errors. Well, here's the thing - I think we all make mistakes. However, if you didn't push the envelope, even with mistakes you might still be able to eke out a win. Perhaps you put yourself in battles where there's no room for error (or bad luck).

Just a different view to consider.
Do you guys consider cost when deciding whether to purchase or wait till next hour? I've noticed that costs vary widely. I've been taking some notes, and so far here are some of the price ranges I've seen:

Corsairs: 14-17
Women corsairs: 60-68
Flibustiers: 78-95
Fatso: 69-85
Nix Warriors: 178-204

You can save a lot of silver if you time when to buy troop.
picked this up from .ru forums looking to see where people were at, it was posted on the 15th of September, as such from earlier on than we are now, and yet 927 silver

It is from Strikert
