Skeleton Crossbowmen do not belong to Necromancer faction. They are Neutral units. There is no Necro class that houses them.

That maybe true as per the game's per the game it is still a NECRO

BTW, help me out here

Go to your leader's guild page.
Check out there where does the SKELETAL CROSSBOWMEN land

Necro or Neutral?
In my recruiting page it is our with my neutral troops.

You can't blame him for thinking so. They are Neutral just as how mountain sentries and harpooners are classified as neutrals but that seems to be a temporary thing until dwarf gets an alternate class. We know that these things have been on their way to progress into playable units. The signs are there, like some of these units can be presently found in castle just to be equipped with armaments. Or maybe skeletal crossbowmen are really not meant to be a part of necromancer faction, since they do not show up in the armaments page while others do. However i think they fit in with the faction, only incomplete, and just among the many things we might see in the far future. Remember we were promised two classes per faction by the admins couple of years ago, although news certainly has not always been on the up and up as we all know.

Yes, which is why I was surprised when I got skeletal bowmen in the exchange. It's kind of suck for me because I don't like skeletal bowmen, and was hoping for something else, although I'm not sure what neutral uncommon creatures are better. At least it gave me a bigger stack of skeletal bowmen to be exchanged later.

Just checked, skeletal crossbowmen were added to that page in with the rest of necromancer units. So it is already sure to be necromancer, just not correctly listed in the leader's guild recruiting page.
Skeletal xbow is part of necro faction, thats why they show up in necro caravan, necro army, etc.
Its not, elves cant crit it.
They can crit protectors, mountain sentries, etc.
There was a thread (I cant find it) in combat problems, where someone was complaining how he cant crit skeletal crossbowmen, Beliar explained it is intended, because skeletal crossbowmen does NOT belong to Necromancer faction.
Beliar is no expert on this. More likely, he said that in order to justify that particular interaction. You might wanna check this out -

Also, you can look at the unit directly and apply a little bit of common sense instead of placing importance on a sweeper/moderator's word :)
Well, maybe you are still not convinced, but you have to admit it does seems like a matter of time/work in progress thing.
I dont see a skeleton crossbowman here. And I do rather believe someone who is in there with the admins

In experience tables for LeG it states you get +1 stack of uncommon creatures. What exactly does it mean?

Would it be better for me to collect leadership and get some uncommons or rush to LeG 1 fast and then get uncommons?
All the units are tiered up:
Common (aka grey background)
Uncommon (Dark background)
Rare (Dark blue background)
Epic (yellow background)

If you collect 50k leadership worth of a unit, you can exchange it for a 10k leadership worth of a stack from the same faction, but one rarity higher.

Thats why exchanging gray units gives you the uncommon (dark) units.

If you level up, you get a random stack of an uncommon unit (aka the one with the dark background).

Only Uncommon and above are worth doing LeG with because you can revive them.

My suggestion is to collect gray units untill you got enough for exchanges, then use what you get in the guild.
what is going on with all the rebalancing my leg lv3 army was bigger than lv5 now

wtf is happening do they not drain enough gold from players as it is?
Well, excuse my lack of facts, but why not use just common stacks? I use swordsmen to win and common stacks as a meat wagon, while the swords do the job. It's the most profitable way for me, as if i would use only uncommon and rare creatures I would definately lose gold...and what for?
There is a balance between grinding the guild quickly doing 1.5 point battles and spending some gold vs. doing 1 point battles, making a profit but not progressing as quickly.
for BestNoobEver:

Because in higher LeG battles, you face armies that are larger and with more complexity, demanding a lot of strategy and a variety of stacks to choose from in order to reduce costs. If you're using common stacks as shields for your other units, then it looks like you're not getting new units, which reduces both the variety and strategy that you can build in later guild levels
wow Anchorties cost 794
it's not like lightning magic will do much in this guild
Stoneskin will though

That's simply because you did not get it yet ;)

Ok, I think you're right. I guess I can't complain then; I got what I should have gotten.
