Author[news] economic reforms
These securities will create excess gold in the game. In the real world more money chasing the same number of goods leads to inflation. However in lwm this is again more complex because most artifacts have a pegged or semi fixed price that is in line with the artifact shop.

The easiest place to see it will be in element prices and TGIs which I think will steadily trend upwards over time in the absence of any other mechanism.

Dependent upon the extent of facility voting rights artifact prices will be more complex. If players are free to choose what their facility produces the artifact market will get much more efficient and supply will start to match demand. This will push down costs for cheap AP arts as players compete to stimulate demand by being the defender shield/light axe equivalents.

On the other end of the spectrum the best arts in level could become more expensive if the price is set purely by the players, if the artifact shop is allowed to run dry (or phased out) this will certainly happen.
Same will go for shares. Lot of people will buy for the sake of buying, and disregarding what value they can get back out of it.

Yes, this is correct. This will be an extremely irrational market because 95% of players won't understand the prices. Price will not match value and a lot of people simply won't care. (There are children 10 years old playing the game) In the industry it is referred to in a non derogatory way as 'dumb money'.

Imagine if 95% of people investing in real life stock markets had no idea what price to buy or sell at. It is a trader's dream scenario.
This is really quite similar to the 1990s privatisation of Russian industry in the wake of communism. Interesting times ahead.
I remember those times very well and can't wait to compare. Currently people are doing and thinking precisely the same. They never change and never will...

In the real world, this is not a problem because those acting dumb with money, sooner or later, lose them. That's not gonna happen in this game, where external donation can prop up dumb money forever.

many thanks for your analysis.

Estate prices are now out of the blue, firstly it was about 1M per estate while launching estates in the game or adding estates in new provinces and that was in time when estates had yield. Now new estates with no yield are priced 3-4M and east river estates with yield possibly 7-8M.

So it is possible that those shares will start to be priced with extremely low yields / overpriced in few years time. I think that cheaper shares which give less dividend might actually get more overpriced as they will have lower nominal price (look more affordable).

As supply is firstly huge, prices will adjust to amount of gold available in hands of those active in the game at the time of displaying shares for sale. Admins might count that many donating players and clans will want to make extra very high donations just to take benefit of quickly buying a lot of shares at low prices.

Admins should consider to introduce share selling only by 3 day auction so that those <10yo players don't get ripped off.

As Asean suggested, Admins might have underestimated complpexity of shares. Surely in the long run, all this gold earned on shares and dividends will have to go somewhere, maybe that will be additional services to pump up hero stats? Something that ingame rich players will be willing to spend their excess of gold.
They did introduce guild potions in for gold sink (and they're sinking my gold for sure). Thye may add more.
Agree with everything you've said in post 105

Estate prices have always been weird and now they seem completely divorced from reality.

They are ridiculously overpriced and for some the payback is decades. Estates kind of became a prestige item where the buyers didn't want to eat the loss. Hopefully most of their price is driven by the fringe benefits i.e. inventory slots and regen. If players accept share yields as low as these the prices will be astronomical.

I think this is spot on and very important. The IPO will suck a significant but finite percentage of gold out of the game based on gold currently on hand which will set the market for years to come. If a clan or a handful of players make a serious effort to pool resources and make some big donations they will control a significant portion of the initial market cap.

It would be interesting to know the amount of gold that is actually in the game. If all the shares get listed at once there will be a hard price cap of (available purchasing gold/20,000) which will really suppress cost. Most won't be buying and players will only want to spend a certain amount. Selling off the facilities in tranches would make more sense but I wonder if admins have thought of that.

The admins will also have the power to dilute by releasing more shares and selling off more facilities.
so i got 1 part of a facility that currently has 78k profit accumulated, does that mean as it stands (yes it will be higher by weeks end) i would get 7.8k gold?
my maths are off, 780 gold
For those planning to sell their sahre, I think it's best to hold off for a while.
With a week or two of sale, there'll be players who reach 40% contral of some facility, and will pay a huge premium to get to that 50. If someone wants the facility whose shares you own, you'll make a lot more money.
Sounds about right?
dont tell people that :D i planned to buy some shares
Paycheck day :)

"Âûïëàò åùå íå áûëî"

It better comes out or I will be expecting interest for the delay.
They added Shareholder list in all facilities:

In that case, what is the most sought after share?
