dark elves are really good (unbeatable) if they got 2 knowledge and the rest on spell power+some spell power arts and elemental call or basic erudition on spell power |

that is their talent not their racial abilaty, we mean the percing magic, and i doubt it, thoughj i hope it does change |
We need a new racial ability, anyone who says it’s as helpful as any other racial ability is a fool plain and simple. Lizards are great as they are; remember to give them room to charge. |

only have 20 mana if you also use elemental call you can only use 2 powered spells and 1 ordinary spell (if costs 4 mana) or 2 powered spells (5 mana). how can someone win with only 2-3 spells?
The talents and the racial is not connected i guess. The racial is "magic piercing" which is for magic (i know its "useless" but it is still for magic). The unique talent is elemental call, but why the other talents such as chaos magic costs 9 pts, dark/sorcery 8pts, while Offense costs only 7. So the tactics for DE should be magic or physical damage? |
I almost always win against this faction .. for me LIZARDS and ROGUES (SHREWS) are the most dangerous creatures Hydras are not too dangerous, just great HP .... especially rogues .. so at my combats against dark elves ... rogues always slayed first if there are no shooters like elvens or magis there ....

This faction is good at its idea, restoring dungeon town of HOMM 3...
But I got difficulties playing this, especially when battling. I lose a lot of battles at lv 3-4...
A bit low numbered I think... they should got 1 or 2 more units at lvl increase. |
they r good at lv 1-4, but lose their power at lv 5-7(except u buy diamond upgrd)
and they'r strong again after lv 8 |
actually, dark elves are strong again at lvl 7 with the rally talent.
lvl 5 and 6 suffers from to few hitpoints syndrome |
I suffer every even levels...
at lvl 3, minos can kill orcs or swords with their power, but at lvl 4 they're greatly outnumbered. Thats happen also with 9 rogues (max for lvl 2), the wolfriders and demons can outnumber them...
Anyway, which is a good strategy for DE that use 11 rogues and 13 minos?? |
aplit rogues, use mino in 1 stack and make sure yer rogues can threaten at about everyting, while next to nothing can threathen them, or suffer the wrath of the minos if they attack.
keep all stacks covering each other, so that that what does attack, gets gangbanged |
IF theyd change the DE factin-skill, DE magic looses a great advantage against barbs, so far.
Me, playing barb,I am mostly afraid of magic-skilled DE. Greater ini, shrews, lizzys and far more speed, DE owns barbs fully, if he can kill Orcs and Cyclops with magic, due to a lack of good artillery.
although that may change after the first Blacky (big,ugly,flying dragonoids) visits our peace loving lands :P

All factions are equally balanced generally and thats that. If you didn't understand my key word it was "generally". Imagine a farmer against a bandit. If you stick to your strengths you survive. You just have to find them. Yes I know how hard it is to find your strengths. I also know how neutral my writing is. |
^^^^Useless post. Don't talk about a class that you have no experience in. Our faction skill need reworking plain and simple.Fact is that Knights only have range strength at level 1-2 but at 3+ they easily have both melee and range strength and DE have no range strength because our bandits are limited. |
look at the "elven faction topic" 5, 6, 7, along last lines, in a discussion about how elves should combat other factions,
which makes me very sad about DE ;-(

Those who jumped in and said DE faction skill is not weak either has totally no knowledge about the situation, or knowing the truth but spread the mis-information intentionally, so that he can continue to enjoy his own factions advantage to DE.
And we should fight against this to let the game maker know that, DE faction skill needs a revise. |
