First: your opponent has less arts, -no- talents O_o and no upgrade.
Second: atacking gated units? Very smart.
Third: (follows from first) random was kind to you - in terms of luck. Since your opponent had neither arts nor talents that give luck he didn't have any hope to deal double dmg to begin with.
How 'bout dueling a smart, well-equiped, well-developed char, rather then a noob who has no gold to buy a full-art, and so little knowledge of the game he doesn't even pick talents? |

But i guess for level 5-7, demon almost can be defeated by DE. From my experience, i can only win against DE themselves, wiz and elf without FK but sprites. sometimes necro, rarely knight and barb, and never for demon.
And demon is good at level 5-7, maybe.
but when they reach level 8, all other factions get good units and upgrade(we, shrews) but demon get incendiaries which i think is the worst tier 2 upgrade. but just my opinion.

true they are weak at level 3-4. i was a demon from level 1-3, and fighting against DE i found that DE is kinda "overpowered", so i change to DE. but now i found that DE is good only at 3-4, 5-6, maybe 7, is the worst, i guess.
you want to know why? ok here i will tell you for your future reference.
1.they have succubi, a ranger, while we only have poisoners with 25% damage only because of range penalty. think you can kill succubi with small stack of poisoners? no. Ok maybe we can split poison into 1-1-1-1-7 and let the 1 sap all succubi's shots. but then, succubi start to gating, and a new stack of rangers will come. I was a magic DE and magic isn't enough to kill succubi. I use magic to wolf, because they are far more dangerous than succubi. But those spawn drain some mana from me.
2. How can you kill those wolfhounds? If you play slow, you can kill some wolf with magic, but once your mana is depleted, what else can you do? wolfs' speed=7, liz=6. rogue=7 but they will no longer a threat in 1st turn because of succubi and hero.
3. their gated stack can block all your liz's move so you need to waste 1 turn of liz to kill gated stack. And maybe more turns will be wasted because another gated stack come.
4. Be a might DE? less chance to beat demon than with magic. think, how can you attack them? liz can't do anything while full stack of wolfhounds is still alive. Only rogue can match it, but again, they will no longer a threat after their 1st move. they have same speed, so when your rogue can reach wolf, wolf can reach your rogue too, but know that demon always gating in their first turn, so its your rogue who must make the 1st move. when wolf attack, no more chance to win.

Ahh, you have too use like 20.000 gold to get all those arts.. Thats a LOT!

| poisoners not really good, but not really bad too. sometimes, they are useful for such as vanguard of knights and wizards. you can kill the ranged by using the poison, even though their main attack is in melee. if you have a lot of money, maybe you can buy it, but if you don't, then don't buy it. but sometimes ppl prefer to attack my 8 poisoners than 8 liz or 16 minos when i was level 6, so they can be used as a decoy. but it's all your choice. |
i think with 4 spell power 4 knowledge and elemental call dark elf very good at lvl 5 all u have to really depend on is ur heroes magic my magic arrow does 81 damage (empowered)and i can use it 8 times a battle which is 648 damage a battle

| not 648 damage you deal 81 damage once with empowered but it takes double mana so if you do magic arrow once(simple)then you can do it 9 times or with empowered you can do it only 5 times |
