hi does anyone have a warlog of the Merc quest "Vanguard of wizards"? I'm gonna try to do that quest when I turn level 5 and I'd like some tips from the pros, thanks.

Finally, another question. I'm trying to turn to ATTACKER-NECROMANCER. I should choose my 1st talent. Which are the better choices, in your opinion?
On level 5 necro=reviver. You need 50 mana at least, 1 sp, 4 faction skill. For talents - arudition isn't bad.

hi there, i got a question... is there any possibility to beat a wizard caravan (TG)? i tried a lot, but nothing worked, spellpower 10+ is just too bad!

Can anyone give me some advice how to win ambushes, please? Check this battle out. It looked kinda equal chances until he started getting morale most of the time while my luck seemed to be taking a summer break.

He had 17x morale, 3-4x luck ( morale 4, luck 1 ). I got 5 lucky shots, 3 of which came on small or almost dead armies :S
I mean, what the hell. Seriously. Elves kick my butt with their crits, knights with their morale, dark elves make their moves first, before I get the chance to shoot. Dunno 'bout wizards or barbs, don't recollect any ambushes from them. The only ones I managed to win were from vitality necroes or players making their moves very poorly.

I read about supposed poison necro power, but cmon, that's useless against other necroes or wizards. Perhaps there's some other way? When I take a look at higher leveled players I see that no matter if it's might or magic lord, they all go into attack. Is that an ultimate tactic for a necromancer or that class' destiny is to be a punchbag? :/
Ah you were ambushed. First i thought u are a thief and you have troubles winning your ambushes. Well as the vicitm you are simply in the weaker position, you are totally sorounded and one can't even shield skells properly. SO i usually don't een try winning those, i travel with min arts or not.

Today i accidently travelled fully equipped and got ambushed, was a necro too, who had less arts than me, so i won that one, but that was pure luck.
I only won 2 ambushes in my entire game time here, and the 2nd one was with the old ambush rules and a lvl 6 guy ambushed me (lvl6) and Kusika (lvl10) that was fun.

So i wouldn't worry too much and simply take the loss. Some of the thieves even sent back the money they took so.
Well, most of the time I just travel with no arts on as well as no army so I don't have to waste much time for unwanted combat. But sometimes, when I take merc quest to escort a caravan I get no brigands ambush. That was the case, but I got ambushed by a player ( fortunately, losing to a player doesn't spoil the quest ).

I simply got upset by the frequency of my opponent's morale and luck and my misfortune ( barely any lucky shots despit +3 luck ). But what's most annoying, there is no way to counter morale while raising isn't of much use at this level.

Anyway, elves brigands {8} from mercs' quest. Those just seem to love me, except that it's not mutual. Got ambushed by them 3 times recently and I just can't beat those.

Is there even a slightest chance to win such battles? After all you don't know what type of brigands will ambush you, so I can't even prepare myself properly.

Sorry about all that nagging at ambushes, just trying to figure out some good tactic I could use.
Concerning your lost thief ambush, there is a simple answer why he got so much moral compared to your luck.

While he moved or attacked about 45 times in that combat you attacked or retaliated only 18 times (don't know if I misscounted somewhere, but it shows the right order of magnitude)

So he he should get around 45*0,4=18 times moral, while you should have had 18*0,3=5,4 times luck.

So with the numbers you gave it seems pretty much avarage.

Moral is a very powerful stat, cause the more moral you have, the more times you can move and have another chance to get moral and or luck (so it increases itself and luck)
I turned lvl5, + I'm necro4.
I just reset my stats to gain more spell power, but the question is: spell lower does NOT affect raises, right?

I mean, if I still increase SP, will I gain more vamps or ghosts on successful raises?
Raise Dead is affected by spellpower, but you can't raise more units of a stack than there were originally.
Without Basic Nature Magic, formula is 120+15*Spell power hit points raised.

I see. So it could be useful to learn NATURE MAGIC (at least the basic one) as soon as I have more units to raise (at the moment I have 15 ghosts and I already raise them all, while with vamps, assuming the stack is dead, I can get 5 of them)?
