Ah #1959 just triggered my long term memory.................page 31 #610 and #611 seems to confirm the identity of this "Dark Elf" who has been throwing his ideas around our knights forum, he's an old friend!

gabe8 try bringing 2 rings of inspiration, getting 4 morale is a good way to close the ground with a barbarian in terms of initiative (the one thing is your griffins/swordsmen might not get their turns as fast if the barb hero keeps attacking them)

watch out for small hobgoblin stacks taking retaliation for wolf riders too

garg cant burst action, so take advantage on that. also, some rapid and delay cast can help you too.

I ever met him once at Yahoo Messenger. He was a friend of my friend. Do not know him much. But he ever told me that Knights were better in defence. And he gave me some examples to follow. I saved some battles too, like KUSHN, TUNG, WALKER, etc. He looked like saved many many battles links, but some of them not valid anymore.
about griffin

griffin is "unlimited retaliation" right?
why it cannot retaliate with someone who have "no retaliation"
every creature has 1 retal everytime it finishes its turn.
if the creature has used its retal, it can't retal anymore.
but, griff has unlimited retal, it can retal everytime.
no retal won't trigger creature's retal.
so, the unlimited retal is useless against this ability. :)

fighting against wiz is just a race with time like everyone mentioned in afew page before.

it is more like who has better personal luck. pray that you can burst more action, deal more max dmg, trigger more luck befall and etc, those will allow you to kill wiz with haste before wiz drop more zap on your head.

well, magic knight can reduce the personal luck slightly with the assist of rapid and delay cast. and, if the magic wand 2010 is telling the truth, the lv4 holy spells - spell immunity will be a key for knight to deal with wiz.

not really at Gbs after level 10 knight can kill wiz with higher chance ..try Fervor talent - inspire your troop..it can move your troop faster than wiz's troop..i have seen many knight that with this talent can win a wiz with a higher chance

True, but the griffs are a priceless part of the knight's tactics. I just finished a hunt that was so easy (cuz of unlimited retal) it wasn't even funny >.<

the value of unlimited retal will show in ambush but not hunt for killing multiple small stacks.

Even in lvl 7 PvP i find it best to use griffs to weaken enemy and then finish them off with swrds

I never thought of it that way but in a way ur right. At lvl 12+ (or 11 if u have diamonds) Griffins die shortly after they dive as they land deep into enemy territory and become a target for anyone in range to go and kill them. Our main force is our guardians so anything to keep them alive and allow them to "fly under the radar" until they lumber over to help in the fight is a plus. Don't get me wrong, griffins are amazing in TG, MG, and HG; but they don't shine as brightly in pvp.

TG? yes, killing multiple small stacks was what can griffin do :)

MG? well, from certain extend, yes, killing small stacks in army or brigands quest. kill small stacks in early stage of raid quest; forget those super big stacks in late raid. yet, the most useful is in consq quest where your griffins are fast enough to cover entire battlefield. i dont see griffin is good killing machine in monster quest or invader quest ;p

HG? lol, you wont whack those target without took retal. yet, once those hunt creature get near, all griffins can do is take 1 hit and die ;p beside, you will use max bow or swords in most case. griffin is more like blocker or decoy.

anyway, i just try and found out how to make full use of battle dive in hunts before royal griffin die. that's the only ability allow royal griffin hurt target without take retal to soft up the amount for xbow to shot.
griffins work okay for me in hunts as a shot blocker for ranged units (bowmen, elven bowmen, merc archers) especially if they get morale boost after they move (gives the poor xbows a chance to fire :D)

knights do not get enough griffins to use them as a main attacking force ( can't trade recruits for non-human creatures :( )
is rally effective even in higher lvls?
