Anyone want to give Tips against Wizard?

I thought I had a good setup and did not do too many mistakes.
Maybe holding slightly back with Liz was not good.
Also more knowledge would have helped.

or are Wizards just strong at this lvl (you don't see many of them playing)
Don't use poisoner against wizard. The only thing they can poison is mage/Germlin.

Use rogues and split them to draw fire from punches while lizard and mino rush in and crush.
for Doombasher: Better delete Poisoners from ur troops in ambushing .. USELESS .. :)

I have a question :

1. I want to pass TG 5 without any Minos Soldiers, But if I build them, will I get more troops ?????
2. With expert offence, cold blade and battle fury, now I have 33 shrews, 11 minos, 9 hydras and 15 Lizards, ... Is that normal ?? I mean my lizards even cannot raise the number .. and just 3 shrews as bonus ?? + 2 hydras is a good think, but just 3 shrews ???

Also, I am not saying Rally is useless. I am just saying it is only useless in thieving :)
I used rally and leadership at lvl 8 for ambushing and then added luck at lvl 9. The reason is not just "purely cosmetic". In my experience there are not too many ambushes where your shrews never get hit. With the extra shrews from rally, it allows you survive longer against the onslaught. And the longer you survive, the more damage you can do.

The +1 morale is a bonus too, can skimp on using 2 rings of inspiration.
And side note, I'm not sure if my assumptions are correct and I'm too lazy to calculate it out:

Let's say at lvl 8 that the basic leadership negates the basic fortune
Basic offense and cold blade adds 10% and 15% damage respectively, while rally effectively increases the damage of your shrews by ~30% (30 * 1.30 = 39).

I guess its just your personal choice depending on the arts you wear.
Okay, rally gives you an extra of 9 shrews which is some extra HP. But, in most instances the extra HP wouldn’t matter, since your shrews stacks would be one-hit KO’ed anyway (think lightning, Devils, modern golems, lizards, huge skeleton archers stacks, monks etc)

But then, that is just my view. I would think that, it is the lizard cavalries with a poisoner stack and the hydras that wins the ambushes. Shrews are just there to take the initial 3-4 hits from the major caravan stacks, and to take out the minor stacks blocking the lizard.
Oh, I think I see the rationale of players choosing rally, after watching some battlelogs :)

It is the difference of playing style, I think. With rally, you work on protecting the shrews from harm, ie. shrews in the corners with minos blocking 1 tile out of the 3 surrounding them.

My preference, it seems, is to delibrately put shrews in harm's way so as to protect the lizards.
I try to do both in my ambushes, protect shrews and take a stack of 12 poisoners (they get targetted by AI before liz) to draw some fire away from my lizards and to try and open a corner so my lizard can charge whatever is inside which are usually high hp/def creatures, or ranged creatures. Getting a first hit on those with a full stack of lizards and offence talents can really do some damage as well as block them from firing a shot at your shrews if they are ranged.
#329: Another way to "protect" lizards is to use a decent stack of poisonners ( 10-15 worked for me). If a stack can't hit your shrews it will go for the poisonners instead of the lizards. Don't expect this trick to work with a 10 devils stack :)

this may be discussed before. my question is which of these two talent builds are better for level 10 DE?

Basic leadership+rally+basic offense+battle fury
expert offense+battle fury+cold blade

any suggestions?

but I wonder how to win a duel with other factions, after lv10.

all of the fractions have shooters, and can kill shrew very soon. On the other hand, we have to rush up, both faction have good melee protectors, does anybody have some battle example?

see Visao .. She uses TACTICS, u can reach the shooters at the 1st turn if possible .. just raise ur Offense .. :)

I used Tactics indeed, but seems no use, you can't finish the shooters in one turn, but the elf bowmen, orc chiefs, succubis can can take great damage to my shrews.

Yes, I can attack first, even lucky to attack the shooters directly(if there is no block unit or get a morale at first turn), but after one tuen, it seems hope has gone away

btw, thank you for your advice, I will watch Visao's combat log, if there is any duel for combat dark elf.
I have a question:
I heard, that at highlevels dark elves - mages are not tactically impressive. Is the magic build of talents and stats useful at the 5th level?

this is one of the most difficult dark elf carvans, I often use max minoatur soldiers to kill shrew first, and then try to use hydra to kill as much possible.
To #338 : Shrews are almost a no brainer.

Not sure you could win this one withouth some enchanted stuff.

Imo putting lizard, minos and hydras on the same side is a mistake.
Lizard and minos on one side is fine, but your hydras first turn was almost a waste, attacking only almost dead stacks.
Aditionnally, you had nothing to threaten the bottom right stacks with this setup.
I would also take some poisonners (2-3 splitted) to take retail and bloc the shooters.
