| All the elves are good for ambush... shrews, hydras, lizard cavalry, minotaur soldier; elite fores keeper, druids, elven archers and unicorns. Fast and deadly units (ok, not the hydra), and this means that they can hit the ambushed before he could do the same |

Yeah. ambush people is better if they're alone, but u'll get the pain if u ambush 2 people at once.

i am a thief .it is my request its easy for me if players move with 1 single unit because fighting with players gave more than 3k experience in level 8;and i don't want that much experience because i want to raise my hunter guild level too.
i was going to post this in different topic.but then i thought it will be best if i post it here.

thiefing is part of the game, dont go order us to give the gold back.

Which hardly compensates for wasted durability of arts you didn't have to wear in first place. Besides, many thieves return the money willingly, and many return if they are asked nicey. So it's a matter of being polite more often than not. |
yeah you can always try to ask the thief nicely for the money back. if you r rude, maybe those thieves won't give you the money and probably your PM will go to secretary and you will be imposed another penalty, 5000 gold maybe? surely worse than just 100 gold that people stole from you
For all non-thief victims : maybe you think thief is easy to do, that thief can get rich quickly. That all wrong. You need full arts if you want to win, and that could cost 700++ gold per battle. And with full arts, there is no guarantee that you will win, so actually the money you get from ambush is not enough to pay off the money you spend on arts. Better try to be a thief yourself and i'm sure you will not get angry anymore when you are ambushed |

for Javi and other anti-thiefs:
first, thiefing costs a LOT. I dont think that losing 50-60-70 etc. gold hurts you that bad, and you need to whine for it. It costs a lot more to the thief.
second, if you play intentionally slowly the battles against thieves, neither you nor the thief will enjoy. You just ruining the game in the eyes of more and more people. Maybe they just leave the game because of it; and like this the game's reputation will fall. So at the end they will be just a few player; do you really want this? If I want to fight against AI then I can find a lot other games...
third, what's the meaning of losing slowly? U will have mana and army right the end of the battle like if you wouldnt fight (most likely 100%, so no time wasted), some gold loss (if the thief won't give it back...) and 1 more lost battle. And of course some exp and skillpoints you got in the battle. So you got a lot of things almost for free (if you played fast), what's the problem? The +1 lost battle in the stats? Cmon...
fourth, as you gaining levels, you will notice that you have a big disadvantage compared to the thieves, at least because of the 1% ini per thief level. So what will you do? Will you shut up and start thiefing, or you will continue cursing enviously the thieves who worked a lot to achieve what they have?
fifth, dont forget: thieves cant choose the target, and most of the time they fight against quite strong AI caravans.

Although i am a thief, but sometimes i got ambushed too when I'm traveling for merc quest. yeah, u're right the thief stole my money and like iron_eagle said in #134, i asked them to return my gold and look at my transfer log. there's something there with desc : thief ambushed, thief return, and other thing.
Some example if u don't believe me :
01-16-09 08:55: Received 168 Gold from eependi : Thef victim
01-16-09 05:40: Received 64 Gold from Sarobinas : ambush refund

Yes, we are honest. This is a part of the game. The different between u and me is that I enjoy this game and u don't.
FYI, when i do thief job, it cost me 1000++ gold due to the full arts i wore.
Suggestion for anti thief:
1. Stop whining and play the game
2. If u say get ambushed is wasting your REAL gold, wear full arts to fight back (which will cause u more due to arts you wore)
3. If u say get ambushed is wasting your time, put just 1 troops in your recruitment.
4. If u wanna buy something or resource, just ask for the market. It's all there. Don't travel
5. If u want to go from GC to YL, turn around so this is your route :
GC - M.coast - EB - YL. i guarantee u'll not get ambushed.

EB-YL still has small chance to get ambushed. the route that has less chance is SH. so from GC-MC-YL, if from BG to YL try this route:BG-SH-EB-MC-YL. good luck!

| If a traveller has set their army so they only have 1 unit, I'll pay the gold back since they're making an effort to save time and avoid the ambush battle. If the traveller uses full army and even arts, I'll assume they intend to fight in an ambush, and then I'm not likely to return the money if I happen to win. |
