Authorsecond blinfold battle
Players teaming up, for whatever reason, is an inherent part of 'free for all' type battles. There is no way to punish players teaming up short of having an admin review all the battles and try to determine whether alliances were formed as a result of combat or pre-battle arrangement...assuming pre-battle arranged teams are considered against the rules.

I would suggest for everyone to take the tournament for what it is, a series of battles where you face five others who may or may not be cooperating. If you'd rather have a fair judgement of individual skill, wait for a duel or survival tournament, or a 'last man standing' style tournament.

now, about aRu thinking that his friend should win... that's low. on tourney, you don't team up with your friends. so disappointed in you, aRu :(

I had no chance to win(position 1) since the 2 barbs atked me with their orcs/cyclops from left and right. If the wiz spent 1 lighting on me, i would have been dead on 4th place.
Dan-Panic has a point:

Then my solution is:
0.5 of exp and skill points to players from 6-2 lvl and 2.0 esp and SP for winner.

Then all would like to win so then no difference if you drop first out or managed to be the second.

The tournament winner would be who will receive the most points points (like survirvol tournament)
and the points will be according to dmg done in combat.
agree with 150.
These are supposed to be "blind". In addition, why text in battle is not allowed? The purpose is clear - to make the tournament more fair.
Since no one can provide evidence that two or more players group together using skype (or msn...etc.), they are still legal in my opinion ( the same stories happened in ru.)
We can't stop those strategies. Just play for fun and get some wonderful exp/racial :)
for Mr_eee:

Not a bad idea either, I like it.
This type of battle itself already have that kind of frustration. There were many times players teaming up, to kill others. For me if i were to ally someone i would work together and wouldn't backstab, that's my character. If it's against my character then i wouldn't play, but if i play i have to accept it for what it is. If i know i can't win, then i would remove so at least i get a 2nd-3rd place, there's no reason why we have to play the way other people want. I understand ur frustration, but we know what's it's like to getting team up in our old blindfold battle and we have to accept it as part of this type of battle.

If even if those 2 players were not from EW, does it mean that backstabbing ur ally is good and ally together is bad? Every players play by their character, i'm proud of aru that he doesn't backstabb ally to win and especially clanmate. I don't encourage that around here in EW.

Thanks for everyone's opinion, but in the end, if we play the tournament we just have to accept it for what it is.
for Mr_eee:

To take your idea.

Position : 2 to 6
- Get 0.5 Xp and Sp (To cut those SP hoarders)

Position : 1
- Get 2.0 Xp and Sp

I think still the Last man Standing should receive all the points and others nothing.

But it will surely push people to fight for 1st place, not 2nd
Hi .. I am facing a strange problem. I have paid the fees and i was the second to join but the battle never started.

Am I supposed to be doing something ... like be in a silent hill or capital .. etc ?

you have to wait until the application period is over. If there are less than 6 people signed up to fight at that particular time, then the system will kick you out and make you wait for the next one.
IS Present is a kind of shop art?

^^ Not really, theres 'regular' and 'serious' contestants.
>>> Even with 'last man standing', regulars can still help serious friends.
Current system works better, it reward all and those team-up things is just a matter of sportmanship which no single tourney format can really cover it.
for Xeno:
This isn't only about that. I'm not aiming at showing off my skills, I'm aiming at the prize money... Wasting arts and time losing to most likely staged, permanent, pre-arranged teamers, and losing points and chances to win because of that.. is pretty frustrating. It is the same as poor people (enroll regulary, but still poor) reporting people who earned their thief set(s) and enchants through illegal transfers because such injustice exists.. and is still roaming through the Empire.
for aRU & Hexagram:

actually when i first saw the combat, i said that it's a fair battle. completely normal.

but, be honest now. say that you didn't know who the other wizard was. and that it didn't affect your choice of ally.

the battle IS - perfect, so if you swear that you didn't know who you're playing with/against, i'll take everything i said back and apologize.

i said - teaming up in tourneys is low, and i still mean it. what i left out accidentally is teaming up "based on clan or friendship"

Wasn't that obvious that 2 wizards help each other in a 3barb, 1knight, 2wiz game
isn't it logical to spare a knight, because he's the least of a threat against wizards in the end of the combat.

as i said, you say you didn't know who your ally is, and i will apologize
I really don't get what is so bad about aiming for the second place when it is obivious you won't get the first one.

isn't it logical to spare a knight, because he's the least of a threat against wizards in the end of the combat
Not against a wizard without mana, and even more so when the other players are one hit away from death while 50 guards are still running around.
