oh damn i also ment speakin "of" and not "for" my english is gettin rusty | 77
I can confirm your words, no problems at lvl 9 as at higher levels.
But thinking more deeply about so called "staged". Well, it's quite normal, that at the start everyone choose who to attack and who not. When you show some player that you won't attack him and even when you play to help him, he mostly does the same for you. I am sure everybody met this. And these way, at least temporary (but often permanent) teams are created, without skype, without respect to clan membership, without even knowing each other. And is it a big difference compared to "clan skype teams"? I don't think so.
It's just a problem of a type of this tournament and its settings. Fixed teams tournament or duel tournament would be more fair for everyone. | deffinitly agree.. everybody also seemed 2 team up with necro or wizard more often than with other factions.. and in some games, ppl all attacked me or 1 other player who had the highest score, making it all a bit of a gamble.. but i disagree that there isnt a big difference to clan spyke teams.. there was always a moment, where u had to be a bastard and attack ur "teamates(s)" in order to win.. with clan teams, the clan can agree on a winner, and everybody makes sure he (or she or even several ppl) get as high points as possible, even if it means commiting suicide...dunno if that actually happened.. but im very happy about this tournament atm as you can imagine..allthough i did have allot of luck^^ [Player banned by moderator Takesister until 2009-12-11 02:40:11 // No vulgarities on the forum please. Warning ban 15 minutes] | The big difference in the temp alliances that naturally form in these battles and skype coordination is this:
With the natural alliances, you never know if you can actually trust your temporary partner, or when they will turn on you. In fact, you never know if they will even ally with you. You have to take a leap of faith and hope they decide to side with you. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... that's a huge part of the adrenaline rush.
Those on skype know exactly what the teams are. They know the alliance will stand until they decide to break it. They don't have to depend on luck and gestures to try and forge the initial alliances. | Thanks for those statistic tables, Kusika, very informative.
The numbers don't lie.
Hope we have a better tournament next time.
Cheers,
LS | I posted my reply on wrong thread...but it is related, in case you guys did not see this data it is worth seeing :)

Cheers,
LS | I'm curious about both EW, and non-EW members' point of view. Should we:
- quit from the clan, and join another? would anyone grant us welcome?
- make a new clan, like Honest Warriors? Or such?
or any ideas...
rofl, these dont make sense either. it is the bloody ATTITUDE problem. there are nothing difference IF the attitude doesnt changed; no matter how many clan you create or join.
not pointing at anyone, just like what happen now:
1. evidences were showed
2. he know the problem
3. he know the result if no action taken (suppose)
4. take action to handle and solve the problem (suppose)
obviously, someone prefer skip the step 3 and 4 but defend his action and the problem by all mean.

for my lv11 tour, i got slayed by EW and DA much until i feel wan to stop join the tour to prevent anymore slaughter. well, i just make little complaints on chat; cause i dont feel want to bring into forum too much LOL
somehow, you guys start the topic. a good nice platform for me to complain now LOL | for hiddenshadow:
Many players (if not you) were disappointed for the clan mail he sent declaring LoS' position. Applauds to their clan members who did play fair despite the mail.
Again, no clan mail was ever sent telling our members to play unfairly so you need to check yourself. But while you bring this up, I notified YOUR leader Binghuo minutes after the whole nasty affair started and although I like him personally, where was and is he? He runs on the war clans and was silent while things were flying unless I missed his opinion and then I will apologize. So Mr. Shadow, you need to redirect your disappointment to within your own clan in that area. We are always ready to face problems head on and are vocal, making us the enemy of many players. Don't attempt to throw us into the mud where the battle stagers wallow. OUR clan actually does checks before we take in players and any obvious cheaters are quickly rejected. Maybe you should do the same and I wouldn't be so disappointed in your clan, eh? | i got slayed by EW and DA much until i feel wan to stop join the tour to prevent anymore slaughter
:) | To Pang: For everyone that made a post here i checked their combat log to see if they had been a victim of our so called "staged" battle. All i found was 1 battle that you were in with more than 2-3 EW. 1 battle is not enough to generalize our lvl 11 and EW. However, thanks for your comments, those are the comments i wish to hear, you can let it out.
slynky: i check your combat log too, there's not a single battle that you were a victim of EW, if i stand correct. So why do you even complain of unfairness to us because you watch other? because you heard other? Don't make assumption about us.
To Elfmoon/limust: I look at your, and truly i feel bad for the fact that you were outnumber and you were taken out first. I know some of our clan mates rather fight 3v3 against DA more. But tourney is over, it is what it is. So you guys can challenge from in group battle.
--------------------------
I expect comments from this, especially comments from the victims of EW, not by people who merely watch battle. If you're not in it you don't know what it's like. To me, those people are just a bystander's view, those i don't treat as serious as from people who were victims of our clan.
Thanks all | i like ViSao's post #1. it's amazing how one could write so many words, sentences, passages saying absolutely nothing rich in content. i really respect that. how many of you are able to do it?
i was never really effected by any of this because i only played 1 or 2 games and then just decided not to waste my durability when i read all the stories.
but i had to agree 100% with this point, i use to have this same skill Visao had back in grade school to complete class papers in a way that made it looked as if i actually had a point. but in reality i was just rambling. i honestly got nothing out of that entire post. it was very well written and looked extremely pretty, but really nothing of importance was said. | Please refrain from personal attacks on others, be it their play style, writing skill or freedom to comment on the tournament.
Last warning before I start punishing for personal attacks. | it DIDN'T feel good to call people rats, although they deserve far worse names than that. may be you should not, offending others is no no here. I wonder why you have not got banned for it so far. Pretending it was taken from .ru and not really offensive, which is plain wrong, try to call a random guy in russia and you will get more appropriate response lol.
Back to subject
i honestly got nothing out of that entire post. it was very well written and looked extremely pretty, but really nothing of importance was said.
well I did not get any info from your post, but the one you mentioned got 5 pages of replies so far, apparetly most posts are subjective and based on emotions, feelings and even co-feelings.I can see some players trying to "bite" no matter what. | but the one you mentioned got 5 pages of replies so far
if you take a look at all of threads posted in the past week or so, every single one with this topic somehow thrown in has countless replies and pages up until it gets locked or another one is started. if i opened a thread that had the words "cheating" "blindfold tourny" and "EW" in any order it would get a lot of people worked up repeating all the same stuff over again no matter what my main point was.
so with out it being a personal attack, which i didn't mean it to be, i still believe this topic does not really have much of a point. im not sure if he was apologizing, rationalizing, or even gloating. but every one knew what topic he had in mind and thats all that matters to get everyone all stirred up. just because i don't understand and/or can't find his main point does not mean i am attacking him personally. | if i opened a thread that had the words "cheating" "blindfold tourny" and "EW" in any order it would get a lot of people worked up repeating all the same stuff over again no matter what my main point was.
This is true, there were posts by some players calling "cheaters" whoever they could, if think you should re-read last reply on those threads to get the idea. | This is true, there were posts by some players calling "cheaters" whoever they could, if think you should re-read last reply on those threads to get the idea.
again, not really sure at all what you mean by this, so ill be the bigger man and chalk this one up as a loss for me, before i embarrass myself trying to figure it out.
so with that said, lets not let this thread stray to far from the topic. someone please remind us of what that is so we can continue. | The big difference in the temp alliances that naturally form in these battles and skype coordination is this:

and that is exactly the point why this kind of tournaments could maybe work with 10000 people on-line (the chance you are in the same fight is very low even if you try to because the system first try to spread all people from the same clan apart) but could not work on .com.
I was lucky I was only 2 times in a clear "skype" alliance fight. But I can imagine the frustruation of those who experienced a lot of them, maybe even with 3 or 4 people teams.
I add one personal comment:
these alliances were not specifically forbidden by the rules, that's right, but have you thought that the fights are called "blindfold"? If my english is not too bad I think this means you should fight without knowing who you are fighting against ... that is, skype associations were in fact a rule violation (even if accepted!) ... and an awful moral and ethical behaviour!!
Blame on all of you that fought this way!
On my side, I know I played correctly, and I earned and deserved all the xp and fsp I got. | don't be silly, what's next. using msn association? or Irc? aim? what about using lwm chat system. Top players know exactly who is who, it's call using our brain to figure it out, we don't need to skype for that. Then i'm guessing using our brain is also ethical just because we know who is who. | ah ah ah ... OMG ... you continue to defend your position ... it is so funny ... yes, you used your brain ... bravo! ... you cheated(*)! simply! short! nothing else!
Of course, people was talking about skype but every other communication tools is the same ...
I realize that at top levels you are so few that it is impossible to be "invisible" ... but what about lev 9, or 10, or 11? I heard the same associations happened there, and if you wanted to, you could avoid that ... but no! you used your brain to cheat all other stupid players out there ... make yourself a favor - stop defending what you did - you won't get back your "image" this way, you only make it worse.
(*)cheating is not infringing a rule in this case but take advantage from a rule loophole or a programming issue - just to be clear | => ViSao
You used your brain and ruined the tournement for high lvl players taht wasn't in your clan, thank god you don't have a dominant number of members on low lvl. I enjoyed the tounement, fun structur. But i would be very unhappy if i was one of does who was deprived on an rare individual event by people who use cowards tactics. What do you get out of winning besides gold? Its like competing in a handicap competician and then be happy you won! |
