Hey, it's another reason to rejoice actually! When counting the hours I took managing complaints, just to draw more criticism! I feel like free from shackles. I wish all the best to all future Keepers (if any). Just remember that top players are more equal than others when it comes to rules. |

i was not always sharing your view on things, and quite a few times had the feeling that you overreacted (in my opinion you weren't the only one though! Things are NEVER onesided...!)
still: i makes me somehow sad to see you resign. there are some gamers ("normal" ones, leaders and mods alike) that leave a big impression on the community and form it, build it, give structure and personality to it. And even if it's sometimes through opposition or controversy, this is a valuable and much needed position - it makes a virtual game look and feel more social, "real-lifeish" and... human.
with you resigning as a mod - for better or worse - the game and the comunity will be a bit poorer.

I will not judge you, I can understand you. If a player like me contact Arctic (with solid problems) on the .ru server I doubt that he will log in on .com and make a thread about it. DEATHisNEAR seemed to me like an OK guy but his ego was bigger this time and that's why this fight started and it finished with the resigning of a MOD, resulting minus 1 guy that can improve the well-being of the game. I watched the forum and you did your job (ban-ing, helping etc.) more than other, maybe because you stay online more than other MOD dunno not my problem.
I know that many #LoS players are friends with Arctic that's good and bad (it seems) thing.
Good thing: DEATHisNEAR talked with Arctic about the Jewellery of Abdication facility and for that we now have the item.
Bad thing: read above.
Guys put aside you ego and let's have a good time on a "clean" server.
+1 if I will get baned, I deserve it!

Guess you unbanned yourself before you resigned since you posted here before the ban was done. Im guessing you were just having some fun before you left the position.
I know many thought your decisions on the forum were not always fair or clear, but you put a lot of time into trying to make this game better. That includes violations in tavern and battles.
Some will cheer your resignation, some will wish you hadnt resigned, but sadly most probably wont ever notice.
Hopefully you can be a positive influence and not do the things you tried to stop others from doing when you were a Mod. Otherwise that would be pretty hypocritical.

I'll do my best, but as you know and as ====> shows, forum rules are subject to quite a wide interpretation. So I might EVEN do things I was trying to prevent while being a mod without being hypocritical - it's all a matter of understanding forum rules properly, y'a know. |

they only want it, cause they dont have any experience in it. being mod isnt fun. it means many work and stuff to do, if you wanna be an active mod. its not just playing all the time and banning some people... |

I understand your point of view in trying to clean up the G&C forums which can be quite messy. From the discussion on another thread, there is indeed no explicit rule breaking, though in the name of good sense the bans were rightly applied.
Perhaps what was lacking was consistency. Perhaps it might have been better when asked for guidelines to provide some positive examples instead of interpreting it as a means to know the standard in order to get around it.
That said, it is a loss for everyone that you have resigned from the position.
For anyone who wishes to take over Kotrin's position, be warned that it will not be easy to fill his shoes as Kotrin has set a high standard during his tenure.

I feel that's going a bit far. It sounds like you are pinning the blame of Kotrin's resignation entirely on DEATHisNEAR.
Let's be fair. Anybody in Kotrin's position would have many (some major, some minor) incidents gnawing away at his once-committed resolve to maintain the order. This is nothing more than another of those minor incidents. It is only getting the attention because it is the most recent. |
