^^ The problem of .com server is the complete lack of admins, for sure you have noticed that also the christmas event wasn't a real "event" this year.
Furthermore, there are lot of "rumors" about an incoming revolution. They say that .com will be groupped together with .ru soon.
For these reasons I can tell you since now that I have no interest in your poroject, sorry.

not really :p
the scope of such a Council is much broader than just organising battles. we can create stories and have them inserted in the server official story, for instance. and it's a place where MC Officials can talk to one another - and such a place doesn't exist atm. |
MCs unwilling to join:

We are feared in the criminal underworld, and not recognized to officially exist by most of the general public. This is a good idea, and we will be watching it grow from the shadows...if corruption infects your club do not forget that we will lay waste to it.
If you set up PvP events, you need only send a messenger, we will be more than happy to hone our skills against the best armies Empire has to offer.

Here is a quote from Arctic taken from another forum thread; If such a group is found necessary, and MCs appoint their envoys to such a council, I would provide an official clan led by Empire to host a meeting place for such a council, as well as a neutral place to host all the "gentleman agreements" the clan envoys would concede on.
I reserve my judgement for now on whether or not the group will be effective ;) Having seen the result of similar clans/events designed to bring players together or in contention with one another, I think that there is plenty to be reviewed before undertaking this such project and will post further comments later :) |
thanks for those links, Dizbe! it is important for all to realize the Council does indeed have the potential to become Official.
i'd say two things about the thread you mention, though: first, the idea in it focus the activities of the Council on ethics (the present project is not bound to such a narrow scope); second, one could not expect an idea thrown around by my man the Duke of Hate to stick with many ppl... <lol>
on the current MC Council project:
-Aramyl was appointed by Vonemar (Leader of #227 Steel Dragons) as representative to the Council; Aramyl is to speak in this thread if he so wishes.
-Noone seems to object to the presence of 2 Mods and 2 Sages in the Council, so contacts are beeing made in order to assure their participation. |

How many people would we want in this clan? From what I've been hearing, it sounds like maybe 3 representatives from each MC participating, as well as 3 Mods and Sages. Are there any other sort of people we would want in it? Other than Arctic, of course.
We can sit around and talk all day while the devs do nothing, or we can actually this plan started. I think the first step is to get this Council up and running, then see if we can't get Arctic to help us out after that. |

that is the plan, yes; but let us make sure everyone really does have the opportunity to contribute to the project. let's see if there are more good ideas (such as the one to include Mods and Sages) out there. in a week or so, i'll prompt the Leaders of the MCs to appoint their respective representatives; a final draft of the Statutes will be put up for a vote and then we should be ready to setup the hosting clan.
PS: #110 Guardians of Russia are for now out of the Council. reason: lack of time and difficulties in the translation. #110 Leader Saddam said he may in the future nominate a representative to the Council, should a Lord from Guardians of Russia show interest in it. so if you are, contact Saddam :) |

i'll pay for it, this is not an issue; very likely other players will send some gold and ease the burden, but this is not an issue at all. after the creation of the Clan, elections will be held on the Statutes and the Leader, i will then transfer leadership to whom gets elected.
i'm also considering the idea of having the official positions within the clan (secretaries) handed to non-MC members. to ensure impartiality. "Caesar's wife must be above suspicion"... |
