AuthorAdmins and Players Integration
players are not dirts we play this game as we are so much attached to it I heared many mods say that if u dont wish to play why do u play ?

Mods are also players, many have invested a lot of energy in helping people, that sometimes has taken away game time and also resulted in abuse for some people.

It is not glamorous. The gold is really not that important or big. Sometimes many months have gone by w/o salary for mods with big activity, other months salary has been given to mods with little activity.

Perfect? Hardly
Corrupt? No
Fair? Up to each one to decide.

After all this time, I still dislike seeing mods simply deleting a post rather than simply applying a penalty and quoting the rule that was broken.

Generally when a penalty is applied, IMO, it is better that someone else can look at the post and know what they should *not* be doing or saying.

Deleting a post also removes evidence that a person could use to defend themselves in an appeal against a moderators action.

I understand that it is possible for a moderator to view the original text but many mods & players may not even know this is possible; nor may any mod have a motivation to do this.

Unless the post is obscene or vulgar (forum rule 2.2), Trolling (forum rule 2.9) or Spreading Harmful Links (forum rule 2.10), why not let the population of the forum see what they should *not* be writing about?

I'm aware of forum rule 3.3 but IMO it would probably be better that the culprit (and everyone else) knows what the infraction was so that repeat events do not happen.

Not having a "duty to inform the user" doesn't mean you should provide a "false" reason; something that doesn't refer to or conform with the forum rules.

Wonderla was trying to start a new argument against us mods because he found it necessary to taunt mods in playing wordgames (which he has been doing for the past few days) with the F word. Or to tell players in I&S to not use +1 as it was a flashmob (he cleary knows its not).

Then when I banned him for masked swearing (only 5 mins) for something like: 'F..k, this is a test for mods' he posted the link here in hope to get more reactions for him.

Swearing is not allowed, never ever never. And definitely not if you try to tease moderators with it to get an reaction.
Using the 'F' word as a worldplay while mentioning a moderators name must be dealt with.
For the record, I agree with your decision to delete on the evidence presented - not that my pinion matters in this case.

But surely the right thing to do would have been to delete it (as you did) and (preferably) quote the relevant rule (probably forum rule 2.10?).

Otherwise you should probably say nothing - relying on forum rule 3.3 for doing so.

Anything else probably isn't helpful, could be provocative and, as in this case, if there is an explanation forthcoming, it probably isn't much better than having the original text visible.

[Post deleted by moderator Arcanide // Forum rule 2.10] is what should have been displayed in post 262. Nothing more, nothing less.

The current message implies something other than impartiality (forum rule 5.2).

Don't get me wrong - I appreciate that there is an explanation. This would not always have been the case.

And as a reminder - the mods have a hard job. I play this game for fun and would never want to be a mod because it would detract from my enjoyment of the game.

But being a mod means having the ability to affect the game experience of other players. There should never be even the appearance of a personal interaction, IMO.

I am sorry for that but I must clarify this cause it is bringing bad name to me.

The word was "freak", no grudges with anyone, Arcy did correct by deleting the post 262 as I discussed it with him in mail:)
There should never be even the appearance of a personal interaction, IMO.

I agree with you. But after deleting 4 other post aswell all about the same subject while we are PMing is getting a bit personal and seemed like doing it to annoy me.
We've talked it out so its fine now.

A ban is a last resort, I'd prefer not to ban but to deleet and warn players (with PM).
I do understand what you are trying to say, will try to think about it in the future ;).
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
