To be considered, you would need to have a history of assisting people on the forum, mostly in Q&H (meaning you would be more likely to become a sage, but it's a gateway position).
There are a lot of factors that go into the choosing of this position. If we are only going to hire 5 people (on a trial basis) and we get 200 applicants, it's difficult to narrow these people down. We need to go with names we recognise as being helpful in the community.
Again, I was probably not involved in the selection process so I can't say for sure, but that sounds like the most likely situation. If you don't mind me asking, was it the ID you're currently on that you applied under? |

it is really funny that someone is said to be "playing for 5-6 years" and still below level 10, ye, i personally want to believe this is not because of blocked since of legal transfers, or give up accounts since of roulette bankrupt. |

I remember that when I applied i was lvl 7 or 8 on my old id. And another time I was lvl 6 player. |

Yes I left many accounts due to roulette bankruptcy , illegal transfers ( only at starting days ) , BUT that doesn't mean iam Active.
And if you ask me , I would define "Activeness" by factors like average combats per day , enrolls per day etc.
And by your talk , now this is confirmed that MODS are selected on the basis of their COMBAT LEVEL.

#116 - There is little point in discussing individual applications to be a mod here but in general, and from my old and somewhat questionable memory, the announcements normally have some requirements the player needs to meet and often some questions in the announcement thread itself.
Many people will fail in this very first contact by showing that they have not carefully read and understood these details and/or not clearly expressed their application. Being able to read and comprehend in English and respond in a clear manner are extremely important skills for a moderator to have.
I am not saying this was the case with you as I don't know but this is just one of the many possible reasons why an application is not taken further.
I also remember that during recruiting periods the person accepting applications would normally be happy to discuss and give recommendations in private with individuals so that they might have more chance next time.
Once again though the duty of a moderator is to make forums safe and clear for all players. We don't want to stop people expressing themselves in a mature and considerate manner and in fact it is often expressed in our private areas (and from the general community) that it would be nice if the forums were busier and we all try and encourage this when we can.
Many forum rules are unclear and can be interpreted a variety of ways and in addition have traditionally been applied with different strictness in each forum branch. For example something which would get a quick ban in GGF may be overlooked in OGF. This is not an example of a moderator not following the rules or showing bias but just common sense to make the forum a better place for everyone.
The majority of users will never get a forum ban or if they do will take it on board and not do the same thing again. A ban is primarily not intended as a punishment but as a quick warning to stop people being inconsiderate of others. For a small number of people or certain extreme offences a longer ban duration often in conjunction with pm discussions is needed to get people to act in an acceptable manner.
Bottom line is that we want people to actively use the forums and for them to be an area for expression, a place to get help or a repository of information. Moderators are here to facilitate this and see enforcement as a last resort. |

All recruiting processes for any job involves different stages. Any adult that has applied for an employment knows this. The applicant must in every stage perform better than the others else they will be sorted out. The selection process is both difficult and harsh. Most applicant will be sorted out so why should YOU be the one selected. I would guess that about 90% are sorted out when applications for moderators are done.
I am not doing any recruiting here, but just spending a minute at Wonderla would make me reject him. The char was essentially 1 month old when the recruiting was done. He lets his brother access the account. History of blocked chars. Transfer log cluttered with loans and gifts. Laborer's guild indicates max 3 hours of activity per day. |

If we receive an application from somebody we have never heard of, they are a low level, we will not have much of a history to go on.
Normally, the first thing we look for are people who have already proven themselves by helping in the forums. This isn't a complicated idea.
The more you help, the higher chance you have of being given a position as a staff member. If we received the application from somebody who has never helped someone on the forum, and simply want the status, that will open us up to more issues. |

I am talking of my previous char, it was around 6 months old at recruitment period.
My bro didn't access my acc, he told others that it was too his acc.
Loans -> Where is it written we are not allowed to take or give loans.
Gifts -> No illegal gifts, not even out of limits.
LG -> I miss out many Enrolls because of PMs ( chatting) and viewing forums, and due to less time in this this and previous month ( I had exams ). |
