I know about the alteration of the troops. My message there was not to maximize Bowmen before faster troops like FK/EFK and/or Sprites. That's a tactical mistake (at least up to level 8, including) because one of the main characteristic for the Elf is the initiative, so, if you give priority to slower troops (especially to Bowmen which are the first target), than you lose that main characteristic. The price you pay for maximizing firstly the Bowmen is too high.
That couldn't be a worse idea for most situations. Bowmen are elf's main attackers next to FK. Always max Bowmen first, unless it is a ranged hunt, Escort or Thief mission.

Besides, maxing your bows rarely changes your efk/sprite troop count.

Even level 3 and 4 when you don't have dru to block, you should still max bows. They make good bait for your fk, the more the better.

My point was that one should focus on the troops which are best suitable for the errand and after that to think of the rest. E.g., in the case of swordsmen, one should focus on sprites, fk/efk, druids and after that archers. Whatever errand you have, the archers are coming on the second place at least. But, it is true that in most of the cases, "maxing your bows rarely changes your efk/sprite troop count", so, we reach the same troops composition in the end.

One minor correction here: "Bowmen are elf's main attackers next to FK" or sprites (pvp against barbarian - duel - requests sprites mandatory).
Finally got to lvl 5 and i just built stonehenge for druids. Now I don't have enough money for sprite upgrade but i can build the magic school and i was wondering, should i save up for sprite upgrade or build magic school?

you'll get magic and might at the same time.
Sprite's wasp swarm isn't very helpful at all. It's an extra 20-60 damage each game (depending on how many sprites you have) and that's it. If anything only their dispersion is useful, which each stack can only cast once.
Thanks for the advice but in the end I got magic school because I neede money for AP rule but this is not why i posted. I posted because i'm wondering "what does rapid, stoneskin and bless do?" And again, thanks.

for Dusk-Archer: I think elves without magic is still strong .. even without sprites .. In huntings also mercenaries ... ur shooters are the key .. ^^
i just started doing TG ambushes and i always bring full arts, but i lose to caravans with a big stack of high tiered creatures, i.e devils, giants, and cavalry

does everyone else have similar problems? are these type of caravans beatable?

i've changed my favored enemy list, i've tried different talents; any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. btw, the 1 hour wait is really a pain in the ass when u've dedicated time for doing TG ambushes :(
I ever faced caravans with 15 cavalries ... with devils too and with giants ...

see this against cavalries : https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?warid=476999875 but I fought with DE .. but One advice to kill ALWAYS the cavalries first .. they are the biggest problem for u .. ur shooters and druids will do that .. then fks to kill the other stacks .. ^^ try it .. :)
I just looked at your few caravans and I have few remarks if I am allowed:

1. Your troops alteration is good, so, no comment here.
2. Your talents would have helped you better if you had used Advanced Luck and Basic Leadership (in combination with 2 x Ring of Inspiration).

You could split also your archers in 2 (one big stack, one small stack) and one to leave it unprotected as a bait for the high tier or range troops (just to protect your EFK from their first attack).

For the Caravan of Demons, do not release the Hell Horses before their first or second turn. They tend to be "caged" in the middle, so, let them there. Put your druids only in one stack and split either for taking retaliations or to block ranged troops. But don't forget to leave the Hell Horses inside their "cage" for a while.

For your last Caravan of Knights, your mistake was you didn't take retaliation before attacking.

On the second thought, for the Caravan of Demons, try to split your archers in 3, put them in 3 corners and the druids in the 4th corners, put stone skin with your druids, shoot with your archers the Hell Horses, don't engage the Hell Horses in a melee combat for few turns and stay away from the gated Hell Horses with your Unicorns, Sprites and EFK (the gated Hell Horses will go to the archers because they are unprotected, and the Caravan Hero will use its magic against the archers). Once you dealt enough damage to the main Hell Horses and you have stone skin on your EFK and Unicorns, you can engage the Hell Horses in a melee combat. It may work.

Try also Luck +3, Moral +3, or Luck +2, Moral +4 (and, of course, Hell Horses as favorite enemy).
actually i don't think splitting archers into 3 stacks is a good idea cos demon caravan hero will use magic to kill them real quick. it makes efk the immediate target.

normally against demon caravans, i would just place archers in 1 stack without any protection.

but its all just my opinion :)
I agree with lobsterkid. Demon Caravans, especially with devils, are tough. Splitting your bows will provide much less fodder. Bows in one stack seem to stand better for some reason. The only downside is that Demons will gate around your bows and dru. The up side is that it gives you a free turn if you have high enough init/morale.

Once again, those Caravans with a large stack of high tiered units is the entire reason why choosing those units for your FE is necessary. You never know when you'll come across them, but having them as FE can be your only hope in winning.

hi guys am i imagining it or is elf a weak faction at level 6 i always seem to lose against all other faction except elf in PvP
knight too many swords
wizard and DE too powerful magic smashes units before i can deal out real damage
barb orcs normally shoot first and have higher hp cos quite a few of them
demon not too bad but no demons wanna fight

any tips guys

the key is luck .. try to get at least +3 luck .. then u will feel the power of Elves .. also try to maximize ur shooters ... Like or dislike .. they are your best troops ever .. ^^ if u want, u can bring EFKS with diamonds .. ^^ for swords .. try to kill some with Shooters first, and the rest kill with EFKS, or shoot with druids .. At least ur troops get 2 - 3 turns more than the Swordsmen .. but do not forget to set favoured enemies to Griffins ... they have to be killed first before kill all ur druids, sprites and fks ..

against DE : always kill the rogues first .. or if they do not have rogues, kill the poisoners or lizards first .. leave minos behind .. they are too slow against ur troops .. YES ur shooters will always die first against their magic, but DO NOT FORGET, ur shooters ALWAYS get earlier turns than their heroes .. then try to maximize ur ONLY turn by killing the favoured enemies first .. ^^

Same against DE, against wizards MAGIS or LOREKEEPERS are the first targets .. ^^
for elven_lord:

knights: kill griffs if they come, or else bows. If griffs come u can easily kill most of it in 1 turn. Swords no threat, too slow to reach you soon enough.
wizards+DE: IF they got very high sp then no chance unless u wear full arts... or else they are pretty easy. rogues and magics first, rest dont even worry, your bowmen are powerful enough to kill them off before they deal serious damage.
barb: yeah, not much you can do really. full arts should win.
demon: the fact is there arnt many demons out there lol...
