ive finbally saved enough to buy a TGI and Im finally a member of TG at level 8 and would like some advice

troop setup
tactics
e.t.c.
complete FAQ for lvl 8 and 9 ambush by CGSMCMLXXV :) worked great for me . i used a full steel set and might sword and luck amulet and ring of impetuosity .

maximum efk, conditioned maximum for sprites, 15 bowmen, 8 druids and max unicorns.

fav enemy:
1. knights: cavalry / champions
2. necro: vampires / vampire counts
3. wizard: gargoyles / enchanted gargoyles
4. barbarians: cyclops
5. dark elf: hydras
6. demon: hell horses or devils as a function of frequency (I got more hell horses at level 8)

settlement:
1. against knights:
a) bowmen in the corner right-down (12:14)
b) druids not split 11:13
c) unicorns corner right-up
d) efk's split in 3 (2 x 1 to block cavalry/griffins to reach your efk and the rest): 1 at 10:14 (close to the druids); 1 bellow unicorns; and the rest close to the caravan hero;
e) sprites close to the caravan hero.

2. against necro:
a) split the bowmen in two and set them in the corner left-down but not too close one to the other for one stack of vamps/ghosts to block both stacks;
b) efk's and sprites 2 tiles away from the bowmen;
c) druids in 2 stacks close to the efk's and sprites, opposing the bowmen;
d) unicorns in the left-upper corner.

3. against wizard, elves, dark elves, player:
a) bowmen surrounded by druids in one corner;
b) unicorns and sprites in 2 adiacent corners (not diagonal);
c) efk's on the opposite edge of the two mentioned corner to create with unicorns and sprites an isoscel triangle (two equal edges).

4. against barbarian:
a) unicorns, sprites and efk's as above;
b) bowmen in one corner;
c) druids in 2 equal stacks: one to protect the the bowmen against 2x2 creatures, and one on the diagonal corner from the first stack (to not be blocked when the bowmen are attacked).

5. against the demons:
same as before, but the stack of the druids protecting the bowmen should contain only one druid, the rest of the 7 being split in 2 stacks, one of three druids in the diagonal from the bowmen and the remained stack in the remained corner.

i've just seen a level 6 elf, who skilled basic luck and soldiers luck.

im confused. does soldier's luck incease the chance of a critical hit, granted by the elf faction bonus or was it just a bad decision?

(normally soldiers luck doesnt become interesting for elves until they get grandmaster bowmen with knocking shot)

but for fav enemy i would say:

for Cassaria:

i dont think having soldier luck would increase crit chance ...


for diversecity:

i do agree that having shrews is better . they appear much more than hydras , but i faced a caravan that has about 30 hydras surrounded by lizard assassins ... i would have won if i have had hydras as fav enemy :(
hey all I've just changed from necro to elf :) I'm level 4 and I'm not so used to this faction...can anyone give advice and tactics please?
I recently reached lvl 6 Elf. My basic stats are:
- Attack +4
- Defence +4
- Spell power +0
- Knowledge +0
I already bought Magic Guild level 1
Should I go for Attack, Defense or Knowledge (=mana)
Until now I used Reprisal Sword (Attack +2, Defence +1) and Defender Shield (Defence +2)

For talents I chose 'Basic Fortune'
I have 8 available points
Should I go for 'Advanced Fortune', 'Rain of Arrows' or maybe something else?

is elf has spell after lvl 5?

tips on what kind of battles ? i won most of my duels when i was lvl 5,6,7 :) elfs are cool if you know how to play as elf :)

i think first of all you dont need defense point ... and i had one spell power when i was lvl 6 , bless is nice when used on time ;)

for 3 or 2 PVPs rain is better if you choosed your fav enemy properly , but for other battles advance luck is much better :)

yes , i mean knowledge . im just mixed up bit ... since its midnight here ... zzzzzzz :D

i wanted to mention that too , if bows or fks move before hero , i wait with hero and use bless after waiting ... otherwise using bless wont help :( best situation is when bowman shoot first and get moral and then hero can use bless without waiting :D

I recommend that for each lv in magic guild, you put 1 knowledge.

I had 1 knoledge at lvs 5,6 and 7, 2 at lv 8 and now and at lv 10 i will put + 1.


This is more than enough.
what talent can i use for me now, the rain of arrows or the basic fortune?

Basic fortune is better, sometimes in hunts or group battles you could change to rain of arrows.

i think caravans are a bit hard when you dont have efks ... you'd better get efks with diamond ...
i found level 7 to be the easiest - sprites nearly fastest units in game and with spread attack and battle fury they deal very good damage

(there are much more battle logs but this one is just an example with SoM and some steel armor, not much though)

use archer as a distraction against spellcaster-enemies (wizard, maybe dark elves) to protect your sprites/forest keeper
and keep in mind as soon as you get unicorns that they have a very very useful ability (any friendly creature standing next to them takes 30% less magical damage!)

if you look at caravans , you won 14 and lost 12 on that page ... almost 54/100 . and you faced a lot of players which didnt happened to me :(



i didnt have enough gold to get efks in lvl 8 and if you compare the caravan victory rate in lvl 7 with fks to lvl8 with efks you will see the difference ... i cant find good examples but i remembered how bad i felt when i lost 2 or 3 caravans in raw with full steel set , might sword and other arts ... look at post #74 in this topic

let me explain why i think without efks it hard to win caravans , i think there are three kind of caravans , 1. many stacks of weak units guarding the main core which is usually a shooter, 2. a few weak stacks and one or two strong stack(s) , and 3. caravans with the mixture of 1 and 2 ...

the problem of sprite is that they are really fragile . if you use more sprites for 1 kind of caravans , you will kill 3 or 6 small stacks and open the way for fk in the first turn , but the 2 other shooters which can shoot will hit bowman and the shooters that cant shoot will usually go for sprites ... its hard to kill all small stacks when your sprite stack is weak ... second caravans are usually finish sprite or fk in the first turn ... third caravans are easier to defeat in my opinion

caravans in lvl 7 were really challenging ... i needed to think profoundly after i deployed my troops and see the caravan and the first mistake was usually the last :( ... but using efks , even if i did a mistake , i could still clean up the mess and win hardly :D
but is there any way to win without efks
