I scored 8/9 and got 14 faction skill points for DE at level 6. |
I scored 8/9 and got 13.80 fsp for knight at 9lvl.
Somebody said that time spent on the quiz influences the amount of fsp also. |

@213: You automatically "use" it when you choose it, it is added to your current faction.

The chance of getting one is dependant on your answers you gave to the Sphinx. And it's purely luck, so your 3 out of 18 is not anything out of the ordinary |
