i have a question, do AI fury barb hero always kill phantom with his hero blow?
last few times he always killed my phantoms
Weird, heh, then I guess the admins only adjusted mine?
Here are my latest battles where AI uses only normal lightning, note how most of the times no AI troops are standing with my troops either, almost all of them have expert chaos magic as well:

Before they would keep throwing chain lightnings and meteor showers, now it's only lightning bolts. So I guess I beat too many of them that they get the shakes and keep performing missclicks?

But I also found out why AI stopped using meteor showers and chain lightnings upon me. Before whether it was 2 or 3 AI heroes, they would all be the same as my combat level, but now when I'm against 2 AI heroes they are both 1 level below me and against 3 AI they are all 2 levels below me. So no wonder no more chains and meteors upon me. I guess this was the adjustion by the admins.
It has always been like this with the portal heroes. You might be confused with Rayzars challenge. Seems heroes below level 14 there cannot use MG4 spells. They do have tier 7 troops though.
Does potion of skill work in these battles?

Just so much meat on the holy knight. Normally I console myself that someone with better dwarf faction skills would have won, I am not so convinced on this one. I guess full on charge at teh start with some luck and rune of retribution may work, to act before buffs kicked in too much, but I am still skeptical.

Is that mass of troops for level 14 holy knight normal?
35 griffs, 13 exorcists, 7 cavalry, 2 angels, 340 rebels or brutes or whatever, and 79 crusaders?

Fine AI having stats equivalent with the best of us. Fine with them having a few more troops than us, but it feels a little too inflated to me.

Ho hum, will just skip those battles again.
oh I forgot around high 70's of marksmen as well

misplaced dreadbane(also unlucky coz griffin move first) and your talent set is = lvl 12, advance leadership, rally ,basic fortune and spare rune cost 44 point, u can pick one more talent.

and yeah i also think outlaw quest is the hardest, always skip on those due to
AI having stats equivalent with the best of us having a few more troops than us

to beat them is possible, but to win with large margin(3 star) is hard :(

When you reach FSL 9 you can play offensive. A good attack with dreads (at least 3 enemies to hit and trigger luck 1 time) can finish 15% of the troops in one go. Lava dragons can use rune of agility to kill one stack while damaging more of those wardens. Berserkers and ursary can move forward to attack the second turn, while the enemy will be busy killing dreads and dragons.

At FSL 8 I would play more defensive. Get range resistance and place shooters away from griffs. Use 1 berserker with intangibility rune to lure cavalry and angels into attacking (otherwise they will just wait), then finish them with all your melee army. Use shooters to kill wardens. Then focus griffs. Stay away from brutes and crusaders until the very end, use runes to take away buffs from brutes, swarm them with all you got and hope for ursary knockbacks.

I did play defensive (ish) and lured cavalry and angels in to then take out with zerks. shooters mostly neutralised - with this patriachs can eiher shoot or get hit by griffs - I thought it best to get hit and kill more marksmen

you are right Banes could be in a better position - the joy of blind placement

As for knocks - none whatsoever and pretty meagre damage at that since they had an extra 12 def by then.

As to tactic of removing buffs, I dont see how that would be effective - can only steal one spell and that is a rune consumed. The best you could take is 2 spells - in which case you have lost the ability for the stack to remove it (n truth I did remove one spell anyway)

Thanks for that - I switched off one luck for morale against for another battle must not have put it back - doh!

I think the only way is more offensive start with luck trigger and rune of retribution - but I cannot do that yet - so shall skip all of these till I am FL9 and then try and see.

A tough one, but as like many of those quests its all about keeping your balista alive. It alone cam kill enough of the griffs etc to win it. Therefore you need to kill the marksmen quick, as the others you can block from it. If you can control the ballita, if not I guess you have to hope it shoots the correct targets!

thats was yesterday's, but whats really hurt is you can't see their settlement
And the exact same unbeatable battle has appeared, the one with Magi (486) and Ogre magi (374), it had even the same setup as before. Just like before the 2 packs of 224 magi one punch spell smack away all the stacks while the ogre magi are just for show.
Looks like the exact same challenge can return.

How to get at least star there? he had almost 2x more troops than me :)
for velniukstis: You cannot win a war of shooting, therefore cannot wait for him - consequently you have to make sure you hit first - particularly with fiends. I would bias some ini arts- even possibly at the expense of a few attack. Also to consider is a darkness magic build. Fiends with curse are less nasty - and the extra damage on a retal from leap can make a big difference. If you can win the centre with a good leap and others charging in you can take advantage of the searing horses running to a corner to get shooters - you can delay them - then catch them with a leap on their return.

Not sure on all of that as never played darkness demon, but some food for thought anyway :)
