Jedi-Knight, the section you linked to is not magic spells, but rather he special abilities of troops. The section you are looking for is https://www.lordswm.com/help.php?section=31. At the bottom of the page I linked to you will find holy and darkness spells. Holiness spells are mainly stat boosting spells (for your or ally troops) and the darkness spells are mostly stat decreasing spells (for the enemy troops) and poison.

At the end you could have hit the 5 vampires..You could have killed them in 1 hit and then the wall would be free. Now you hit the zombies and didn't killed them all, so you needed 1 more turn to break the wall, which gave the skellies time to shoot you.

i find magic pretty useful.I used to have 1 knowledge at lvl 5 and the stat from lvl 6 i used it in spell power.The spell i use the most is bless.That's because i got 37 swordsmen that got 2-4 damage.With bless they go 3-4 so it adds 37 damage+attack stat.I don't think that any character in lvl 6 would be able to do 37 damage.Also it works good on griffins, turns that 5-10 into 8-10.
that's 33 damage but with high morale and 1 spell power they can deal that extra damage more than once.

That's a good catch. I didn't notice that. If I had done that, I could have been able to hit those skells sooner and maybe change the outcome of the duel. Thanks fot the tips!

In response to MrNiceGuy's question and RandhytheDarks' response:

To Randhy, Escort is not and will never be the best talent in every situation. Especially as you get into the higher levels, it begins to lose it's effectiveness. If you decide you would like to use some supporting magic as a knight, escort is not a good idea. Because every time escort is used your hero loses 0.5 turns. That means that potentially your hero's turn can be knocked back so many times you can never use your magic. I personally do not like escort for my playing style at level 8. I have tried it and found it too often hampers my ability to cast bless or stoneskin at just the right time. (and bless with max crossbows has far more potential damage in one shot than escort in an entire battle). Plus as many have said before, when you are fighting large stacks, escort's usefulness is laughable at best. (Sorry, just had to get that off my chest)

I have found that level 8 is where you can really begin to experiment with different talent builds and there are many successful good builds out there. No one talent build is the best in every situation. I personally have two or three talent builds I switch around at times. (And yes, occasionally I do use escort, but not very often). My favorite talent build for my playing style at level 8 would be basic defense, basic leadership, and rally. (for full art) however, if minimum art I might decide to switch basic defense for advanced leadership. I have never used vitality, however, I have fought against a level 8 knight who was a "tank" build and it was a great choice for his playing style. He would have been difficult to beat if his teammate had followed the battle instructions (Full-Art) and played better.

There are many other great talent builds for level 8 that other players use. Experiment and think about what your playing style and strategies are so you can choose the talents which best fit your personal style.
not to say escort suk. it is just not as good as other talent at higher level. escort can be useful at min ap fight. but, dont depend escort too much. losing ATB for hero can be devastate in group battle. in NPC ambush or escort quest, escort still can proof its good.

vitality, hmm... not to say bad, in lower level vitality can save your troops alot, you wont face some extreme high dmg which could kill your entire troops in 1 hit. but, you wont use it much at higher level, you will prefer the defend mastery rather than 2 hp later on. even might knight seldom invest on vitality, they will prefer invest offense or morale talent.
just to add to sungor's post,

the annoying thing for level 8 knight is that you have to switch between different talent builds and army builds from time to time, and if you forget to change to the right build, you may lose some easy battles.

escort is quite useful for ambushes, but pretty useless in other situations. i found adv luck and max xbowmen quite useful when dealing with large creatures, either in hunts or mercenary task monsters. for delivering tasks, defense+vitality is good. for other hunts and mercenary tasks, moral+rally is good.

I never said that escort is the best talent, but because of Knights Defensive Style, then Knights have to attack and attack more, then this Talent should be very useful for doing some damages to enemies troops .. :)

Escort + Defense and Rally is the best combination I think .. :)

Coz knights will be the last longer to stay at battlefield .. Coz they will be much harder to die .. :)

NB : I say knights are defensive because that is the best choice for knights, remember We NEVER PLAY before Elves and Shrews .. :) That's why all the talents I said above are very useful and the best combinations I think ..

rightly said for low lvls but not for highrlvls as the lvl goes higher escort looses it's effectiveness and abut defense ok but we will defend only?
we also have to attack only defense is not the knight's speciality but morale also.Knight's morale must be high such that he could get some turns more to attack then just being blown away by high initiative ones

best combo i think:
basic fortune+basic leadership+rally
But,
Basic fortune+advanced leadership could also be used
Yeahh, ring of morales, thieve amulet and Leadership could be usefull too .. Knights must have many turns, as I said, they are defensive .. :) low inits, slow, but the attack, damages and Defence are awesome .. :)

Ermm.. can some kind soul show a battle where a lvl 9 or higher knight kicked a Necro's nice little butt? Just so this low-level knight have a little more faith in us knights in shining armor? :p

how can i win from necro , wizard , dark elf and barbarian on level 4 ?

and when i reach level 5 should i take luck or escort and should i put a parimter in knowledge and build magic guild or should i continue with attack and defense
