| Hi all, I'm not sure if the person is doing anything illegal, but it sure is unethical. There's a level 13 DE lurking around (darkelf84) that would invite people to assist in hunt, and ambush when it's done when going back to your original location. Look at his combat log and you can see that he has a very high success rate in ambushing players. I am not sure if he is using scripts to help him, but it makes moving around a pain since we know there's someone stalking us. Just take note, all level 13 guys! |

I think he has just found a tricky idea: ambushing where u don't expect at all
He has ambushed me on route from 'Misty Coast' to 'Ridge of Hope', where i didn't excepted any ambush so i had 'NO ARTS' on... -> trivial victory for him. |

Like I mentioned earlier, I doubt it's illegal, but just a warning that you are being stalked. If you look at the logs, the usual suspects will be ambushed, even if you are not assisting with any hunts.
Just a friendly reminder, that's all. |

Is darkelf84 even using that tactic which the thread starter claims knowingly?
It seems to be not sufficiently consistently used for me to consider it such.
While it may be the case where he catches those who assisted him in hunts, it is only in 2 out of 4 of the ambushes in the combat log posted in #2 which fits the described situation.
Below are the incidents relevant to the situation which the thread starter is referring to. Evidence is as taken from post #2 which the thread starter used as evidence.
2 hours difference. And Bildukas seems to be darkelf84's regular victim, so it is possible that it is a coincidence.

Hiya all,
I'm 1 of the players that darkelf84 invite pretty regularly to assist in hunts. Then I noticed what the TS posted here. In the space of 2-3 days, I was ambushed by him 3 times.
On the last occasion, I noticed that I was ambushed right after our hunt. Sensing that he starts an ambush right after an assisted hunt, I started to observe him, and true enough, he is always in ambush arts right after an assisted hunt. I actually wrote him a PM regarding his modus operandi yesterday. haha..
Note that I'm NOT saying what he's doing is wrong. He probably found a new and novel way to get his ambushes triggered faster.
There may be an ethical issue (chance of ambushing a player who helps him in his hunts), but all in all, I'm OK with it. I can understand that some may not share my view though. For those, I say, don't assist him in his hunts then, and chances are, you won't get ambushed. :) |
Unfortunately we have none his level, but if this happens with anyone lower level, remember: 587 Homeland Security is there for you! Get in touch, send a tip, talk with us and we'll catch these petty malefactors, high way robbers, bandits and vagrants. We'll pitch them in a fork, roast them on a fire, salt them up, throw some boiling oil on top, and them grind them down in a mill.

| Hi all, again I started this thread more as a warning to let people be aware of this. I have never wrote that what he did was illegal in anyway. But I do notice that he has a selected few people which he stalks, if you look at his combat log. Even if I stop assisting (which I intend to do so), I may just be too easy a target for him to stalk......let's see how things will turn out.... |
Two questions
1.How do he avoid caravans?
2.How do he avoid those anti-thievies?
Maybe answer to Q1 could be chance or coincidence ,but how about Q2?
My friends,xone0016, caligulax, and some others,have tried numerous times to catch darkelf84 but failed.He seemed stop ambushing when they are traveling around with enchanted arts,while he got his victim only a few SECONDS after my friends arrived somewhere and was changing pages.HOW? |
