With your griffins it is usually best to keep them back with the swords. Don't rush them into battle right away, because they will get slaughtered. They need the backup of the swords. So move your swords up and keep your griffs in range to help the swords out.

Volley is very useful if used correctly. However, many times I saw knights use volley where it wasn't beneficial. If you can only hit 2 large stacks, then volley is not necessarily better then a single shot. Volley does 50% damage to each stack, so for it to actually do more damage, you would need to hit 3 or more stacks at a time. One of the biggest benefits of volley is to kill 1 unit stacks guarding ranged troops, or used as punchers. Your bows will not be your major damage dealers, so don't worry too much about them getting taken out. When making the choice between volleying two larger stacks, verses a single shot against one of those stacks, I usually went for the single stack. I found it more useful to weaken 1 stack then spread the damage between two stacks. However, if there are three or more stacks in range you will do more damage with volley than a single shot.

Your swords are your main unit, use them wisely. Even with the addition of griffins, your swords are still your main troops. They are especially helpful near the end of the battle because most of your opponents will attack them last, all your other stacks will be dead, which gives your swords rage +6.

Another useful tip is to use 1 stack archer units as your punchers rather then recruits. Why? Because they have a higher initiative and will always move before your swords. Your recruits do not have that advantage and therefore might move after the swords making them pretty worthless punchers.

Keep in mind with all of these tips however, that they are not always the right thing to do. There are times when it might be necessary to charge with the griffins for example. Just think your moves through and what the opponent will do as well. For example when doing a hunt against ranged troops a good idea is to split the griffins into 2 stacks. 1 stack of 1 and the rest in another stack. That way you can get your griffs over to the ranged troops to block their ranged attack and the unlimited retal of the lareger stack of griffs can take out a lot of the creatures before your swords get there. (I have found that they will always attack the larger stack if they can get to it, rather then the 1 stack, thereby giving your swords longer to arrive) And hopefully the griffs will survive until the swords get to the other side.
this is a swordsmen question. If they have been enraged does the bless spell still increase the minimum attack, or does bless not further improve swords if they are enraged after a certain point?
enrage increases attack, but bless increases minimum damage. they're different.
yeah, I know this already, but, does bless not further improve swords if they are enraged after a certain point?
324: ofc. why not? they're different and will not affect each other
Ok, thank you both, elenthil and aRU, just wanted to make sure as I was not.

Any ideas to kill knights invaders level 10 with many cavalries and many griffins ?? they were damn too hard to kill .. ^^
I know I am starting kind of late, but a friend just gave me a thief invite and I was wondering what some good strategies and art combos are for level 8 thief guild missions as a knight. Any good tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
For sungor
I used Lv 7 Art + Amulet of Luck + ring of impetousity and/or Ring of inspiration. And finished in 2 weeks time.

it is a little bit too much arts, but it is for sure.
Don't foeget that someone want to kill thief too and he wear full art waiting for weaker thief.

For talent: Rally + Basic Fortune: in need of larger troop and more chance for double damage

Hope you finished just before Lv9
for sungor: I think rally + escort .. See TUNG .. He always brings Escort .. then u will kill fast .. but do not forget to bring cape of winds .. For shield better just def shield .. too much with Dragon shield .. ^^
@sungor:

If you want to finish it without many losses, I would propose (nearly) full arts.

I used nearly complete arts too, when doing my way to lvl 2 TG in clvl 8 and needed 6 days.

Full arts are:
Steel - helmet, boots, cuirass
Sword of Might
2x Ring of Inspiration
Medal of Bravery
Defender Shield

So the "nearly" is you use no Dragon shield (as Randhy said) and nothing on the back.
That's enough to win the missions.

As talents I found out that "Basic Offense", "Battle Fury" and "Morale" are pretty nice for the thief missions. A small Luck value won't bring you a great advantage because there are many small stacks.

My stats were 19 losses to 120 succesful TGI Missions (some of the losses against 2 players were you nearly stand no chance). I think that's quite okay.

Setup:
Use Full Monks, Griffs, Swords and the rest Crossbows and last recruits.
Don't try to protect your crossbows they are the prime target and in many cases will be killed in the first round of the enemy units.
I got stuck on mercenary quests now. i lost quite a few 200+ gold reward delivery quests and my reputation changed from 10 to 0 in one day. any advice on dealing those {12} brigands? also, at level 10, how high could you go for invaders, armies and vangards?
I am planning to ambush in lvl 8 plz tell me a suitable talent combination for knights for ambushing
*head shaking*

"Seek and you will find answers" - a prophets saying

*look up*
im trying 9 griffs 19 bows 28 swords 1 farmer much better i think
stepher, if you upgrade those farmers to recruits you can get a lot more troops (swords and bows) because of Knights racial skill. You can upgrade them by building farmer cabins. (found under upgraded constructions)
Hi. I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to best protect my x-bows against fast creatures like gargs or cerberi. In my last battle, the cerbs got my bows too quickly as they moved before I could plug the hole.

That's the battle I was referring to.
griffins and monks to cover them
and split 1 grifins to prevent 1st hit from cerberi
thanks!
Any tactic to deal with hunting elite forest keepers. They are such a nuisances, especially they have battle dance.
