Honestly for me bigger map looks easier as i m demon necro faction is peace of cake and ambushes without many shooters. But I can t judge difficulty much as i played only a few battles with wolfhounds reched tg 3 on day with updates played few battles won more than 50 percent before it was maybe 10-20 percent and bought cerebri for diamonds too have chance too get tgi. :)
The new map opens up a loot of diferent tactics,demons can gate in peace now---gives us a massive advantage,and mistress can shot more + gate,archer caravans are indeed a problem afterall,but loosing them a few times should solve the problem..and loosing is an important part of this game xD!
This upgrade is suck!
Bigger map makes zombie to be totally useless. De player will easily play hit n run with shrew and the slow necro will dead!

In the same way, DE might become a threat to necro, but they are now completely useless against mages and shooter strong factions.
Necro too!
So necro will be the worst thief ever!
Cut OFF necro with 4 slots of SCeletal-BOW!!!

necro/barb now is good ambusher ,shrews and other fast units can't reach shooters in corners ,in first turn
I say it is so bad that my shrews cannot reach everything anymore, archers of caravans are much more threat now....

You did not play not even 1 single ambush since change... So how can you even talk about it? Many people here cry how hard it is without even trying too figure out new tactics...
The barb sucks as an ambusher now.

Our Rocs can get in and beat up things, or transport our ogres. If they don't transport ogres, the ogres are near useless. Our wolves Must attack. They are only speed 6, so they are really restricted in what they can hit. Our speed 5 hobs can't hit anything 1st turn either. It may be better with cyclops, but at level 8, barbs suck as ambushers.
it already was a hard thing to ambush with barbs, they have no ultra-high-ini troops and 2 big creatures (which results in positioning them in the corner anyway)
but now that the corner have become further away you may want to place them in the middle of 2 sides of the field. This is an advantage compared to before (you now can choose between much more stacks to attack). On the other hand your hobs/ogres have to be placed at a third side of the field to be near enough. So you can't focus on one point (for example shooter/one huge creature in the center)
on the other hand enemies now have a much more painful way until they reach your orcs. This really can give you an advantage (and don't say "now enemies aren't in range of orcs so they deal less damage" because the way it was before the enemy still had enough chances not to stand 6 tiles near your orcs or closer)
so there is pro and contra to this :)
what about insted we get ambush by theifs right now we hunt the theifs we can get exp it fun we travell allaround with full arts full heath

My experience has been different... I've found the Necro to be much better at ambushes now than before the update. I won most of my ambushes yesterday as a Necro, but before the update I could barely win any. I had started using DE to ambush because it had become so difficult as a Necro to win any. The tactics definitely need to be adjusted, but thieving as a Necro has become easier due to the update, not harder.

Same story, DE's shrews are less demanding, range heavy factions are more advantagous.

Overall, apart from high level balancing, we wizards are enjoying the updates. Minis, although less effective, but we can make doubles and triples earlier. +1 speed is very useful in most caravans. Lightning+Ice clod buff, just great, and gargs enjoy the new field very much.
I just gave tactics a try.

Well, who managed to make 4 TG? And who else thinks get done before December 1?
Wizards are quite good now at ambushes, mages can through shot more before reached by enemy and you can make AI be scattered all over the battlefield, so running with gargs is easy. Although wiz- and barb-caravans and necro players are really a problem for me.
Heh heh .. At 1 and 2 TG Karvan easy to beat .. So I look at you when you're with them to fight on 3 and 4 TG ...
And another huge exp give in case of victory over caravans .. I thought that I will do 4 TG-9 level ... but now I see that at level 10 ...
my last battle was impossible to beat 2vs one i got massacred
