Author | First Battle of the Clans Tournament |
As for what game outline we will use, let us leave it to the clan leaders to submit entries. They can decide by vote what we will use as a basic format and then hear ideas on additions or changes. This way we don't have a huge debate and can work it out in a reasonable amount of time. |
you would have to choose one or play it randomly like odd/even roul so the player wouldn't have to make that hard choice.
yup. Assume that we have 10 clans, so players still can fight other clans which they are not in. :) |
Looking for a responsible player from a different clan than mine to keep tournament records with me. |
Another item that needs to be discussed. I have diamond troop upgrades but I don't think it is fair to use them for the tournament. Not all players have the ability to buy diamonds and shouldnt be discriminated against. Agree? |
no diamond upgrades, same level, no enchants (or one 40%) shop arts only ??? |
Damn! nice moving :) I'm happy to see that, and would happy provide some enchanting service for future wars.
anyways, what's important to me is maybe making sure atleast a day or so ahead who's going to participate what battle and at what time of the day. so that the battles would go ahead, and we wouldn't need to wait for nobody. |
imo, diamonds should be allowed. that's how it works on official tourneys after all. it could mean few euros in admins' pockets and a longer life of this server.
also, i think that this thing might bring some people back into the game. let's just make it happen :) |
I think that, for a first tournament, the simpler the better.
I'd suggest 2-2 battles to begin with. Easier to set than 3-3, takes less time. But if people manage to create 3-3 battles, why not!
Battle type should be "Optional", up to 1 level diff on either side (like 10-11 vs. 10-11). Of course, both sides should match: 10-11 vs. 11-11 is not allowed.
I don't think we should issue any restriction on arts, diamond upgrades, enchantments. Or at least that each person is responsible for defining restrictions for battles he/she creates. |
LOS has levels 7/9/10/11/12 covered so far with sign ups. How are you guys doing with clan feedback? |
ok with me LoS have also lev8 covered :P |
sorry to say but I did not get any response from bootland people yet so until that response I draw back Bootland from the battle. |
#47 I dont think Diamond upgrades should be allowed (even though I have diamond Appas). This is not an admin run tourney and there is no "purpose" it other than to have some fun and earn some Kudos for the winners.
I also think that people in multiple clans should choose only 1 to fight for. Why should they take the place of someone else who wants to fight and earn an unfair amount of xp/fsp points? Additionally when battle clans are introduced they will have to choose just one battle clan anyway. |
Ok first I have to check woth my Co-Leader we both have to approve |
In my opinion:
1. No sense discussing the rules at length until we know who is willing to participate (ie levels). Once we know who is playing, we can come up with some rules to fit our situation. We may find ourselves in positions where a clan only has a level 10/8/7 team so maybe they should fight the same thing--a level 10/8/7 if possible, etc. Remember, we need to be flexible here, so that more people can play if they want to.
2. The game is free to play because of the people that pay for it...therefore, I think diamond units should be allowed (thanks to all who support(ed) this game).
3. I agree with Visao, either 1 weapon enchantment of 40% for melee, or a magic enchantment set in the 40s should be allowed to speed up the battle (Keep in mind that a magic caster can only use 1 spell type at a time, so in case of dual enchants on jewels, do not consider them stacked--I've had this argument with 1-2 people, so I rather avoid it in battle in case I choose to fight as a wizard/magic-de hehe).
4. There should be a limit on luck (maybe 2). Luck ruins the skill factor in PvPs. I am the only player on this server to openly restrict luck in the full art GBs I host...but they are more fun that way I think xD
5. All battles should be 3v3 or 2v2 (hybrids is just another level of complexity we don't need right now)
6. Good discussion so far, good feedback. This is going to be a great event!
Cheers,

To players who want to be in the tournament and their clan is not interested or they are clanless, I am sure any of the listed clans here would be happy to have you join them. You need to be in a listed participating clan to play in the tournament. |
^^ Great idea but if it just for fun and friendly there's should be min.arts class too :) |
"My name is limustudotcom and I approve this message."
(You need to be an American to appreciate the humor of the above message hehe)
I get it and I'm not american... :)
I'm amazed at the amount of clans joining! |
Let me have a little to say on this: Great idea, great approach, and great support from all involved. But shall we add a little simple class to it?
Idea 1:
Any fans of the UEFA Champions League here? We can actually adopt that system. Depending on amount of clans, the split should be in Groups A, B, C etc etc, where a total of 4 clans go head to head for top spot. Winners of Groups are decided on point system and head to head record. Proceeding that, enter either a semi-final or quarter-final stage (depending on number of clans). That way, the winning clan of the tournament will not be depended on its win record, but for its ability to cope with multiple types of opponents.
Simply put it, this system is a part group and part swiss round format.
Idea 2:
Let all arts and enchantments be used. Althought I myself do not enchant, nor do I have more than 1 theif art, I think its natural all aspects of the game are used.
Idea 3:
Level format should be according the tiers. But when a level 6 faces a level 7 with crossbows, now that might be a problem. Leave it to you all to ponder on this =)
Well, that's all from me for now. I do have to say though, that from where I am exams are just kicking in at the moment (Malaysia). I have my finals in November, so if this tournament does catch on, I might miss the follow-ups. Nevertheless, with enough worldwide support this idea might really be worth the hype. Cheers y'all ;) |
On behalf of #209 - The Shadow of Death I announce our involvement with at least one CL10 team. For the moment, our requests are:
1. the same combat level for all our opponents (CL10);
2. 2 vs. 2 is preferred because of the time spent in a combat, but we can go for 3 vs. 3 as well;
3. we can play any AP, but no enchants (I have enchants, but my clan mates don't have yet);
4. we prefer Artifact Shop arts, but that is not a necessity;
5. we would like to know the time table for our combats with (preferable) one day before.
If the organizers are interested in our participation, please, contact me via pm.
Cheers,
