I am a Necromancer (magic)
i have a qustion:
1)if i got 3 spell pwoer, the ponch\rise is stronger?
2)way need to up the ponch spell in talans?

Yeah, 3 spell power will slightly increase your punch or your raise, but you will only get the punch at lvl 5 after building the academy of magic. Only wizzards can use the punch before lvl 5.

Is there any logical explanation to the fact that at the very begining, I mass poisoned 3 stacks for 4 turns, and during the whole combat, duration of the spell for monks became shorter and shorter compared to the 2 other stacks... ?

Or is it some bug?
That's normal, because the duration of the spell is connected to the initiative of the unit the spell is casted on.
The best would be to avoid amushes too at lvl 11!

In lvl 10 I did all my ambushes with full enchanted arts and they were too easy,at lvl 11 I could barelly win with them!

Only 300? I lost almost 1000 ambushes over a period of 8 months with min arts because before summer 2009 I read about the losing to make caravans easier strategy and that winning in min arts is possible.

I'm like you, I used full enchanted arts all the way to level 11 then figured why should I spend over 4,000 gold (on average) per ambush when I can use min arts. Now my win rate with min arts is still 0.

I still say ambushing is for the rich or those who have unlimited time.
I have just leveled to 8- im finding liches bad against duels and think it will only be good against group battles isnt it?
Should i max ghost, or IF? its either 32 ghosts or 61 IF (with 88 skels)
Liches make a nice distraction in duels/group battles, but they usually only get one shot at most before the opponent gets a unit next to them. Their best role is to create a pocket to hide your skels in... put the liches one slot over from the corner and put your skels in the corner next to them. a couple infected zombies in front and your skels are usually safe for at least a few rounds of shots.

to Slust: Every unit has it own turn, it is any time, when it can make any action. If you have unit wit ini 12 and unit with ini 6, the 12 ini unit will move 2 times while 6 ini unit only once. But it means, that 12 ini unit had 2 turns while 6 ini only 1.

Delay or rapid are affecting initiation of troop (how fast will the unit have its turns), it doesnt have any impact on spell itsef.

Yes, exactly. The only exception is that morale bursts or waiting will not decrease the time of effect, but the unit take more turn. That's why in your fight example from above the swords get more than 4 time poison damages, because they got morale once and then they waited twice.

I haven't taken a look how that will be effect the poison length, if you have a good example fight let me know.

and with TigerClaw post... Wich seems to be a good explanation of the problem of monk's duration of spell; xbows and swords have the same ini, and duration of spell is the same for both, while it's not for monks.

Close to the end of the combat, I delaied poisonned stack, exept a gated one. The delaied stacks get poisonned for a longer time, so I guess that the poisonning duration matches up for 4 turns, even when delaying.

So, no matter what, stacks will suffer at least for 4 turns.

For rapid, I haven't any log to confirm that it's the same, since caravans mass rapid every stacks I poison ^^

I'll look to older ones, maybe there will be an interesting one.

Anyway, thanks again for your reply, this is very interesting; this way, delaying poisoned stacks is definately not a bad idea, and poisoning high ini or low ini stacks doesn't change overall taken dmg.

Delaying poisoned stack will not change anything. Poison is fixed to current ini of the unit, so if you change the ini you will change the poison duration.
I have just reached level 6 and so have gained 1 skill point.
Till now, I have, WITHOUT ARTS, the following parameters:
3 attack
1 defence
5 knowledge
0 spell power
So where should I add my newly gained skill point?

can someone please give me some advice for this battle- for me, i think that the elf won by pure chance- my ghosts never missed, and the efk went 2 times faster then my vamps, and the elven bowmen had virtually every single shot critical. How should i have played this better?

It is quite funny, how mega0impact, one of the best necros at lvl 7 (acordnig to his own words) is still asking basic questions here.

Yes, I can give you advise, how to beat elf at lvl 8, but I am not going to. If you are so good, you will figure it out.
And it has been already written many times on this forum, you just have to read...
Or you can check combat logs of other necros, but I supose, that is too hard for you....
markussk, no need to be snobbish. i was at level 7 but i am new at level 8- of course i have to start from scratch to learn how to play level 8 properly. at thats what this thread is for- necros helping necros. Im asking for suggestions in my situation, in addition to what has already been mentioned in these topics that i have read.
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
